Cast and Producer of Life OK’’s Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq talk their hearts out

Life OK is all set for a new line-up of shows with BBC Productions’ new venture Ek Boond Ishq to go on-air from 9 September, 2013 in the 8:30 PM primetime slot. With this, comes the new development of Savitri replacing Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq. The show produced by Beyond Dreams aired its last episode on 6 September 2013.

At the outset, we spoke to the core cast of Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq on their journey being part of the show.

Aditya Redij who played Ishwar Pandey/Prithvi in the show claimed to have a wonderful learning experience. The actor is glad that he got with an opportunity to play a double character role as the plot unfolded.
Says he, “It was a fantastic learning experience for me as I had never played a negative role earlier in my career. I do not know whether in the days to come I would be open to doing negative roles or not, but all said and done, it was definitely a fun experience.”

Mouni Roy, who played Meera opposite Adiya avers, “My experience has been great with the show and it was a different experience for me playing my character. This was something that I played for the first time. As a character, Meera was more humane and a little over the top but on the whole she was unpredictable as far as her personality was concerned.”

On a pleasant memory that even today lies close to her heart, Mouni says, “We were shooting in Jodhpur where the cooling was not gratifying as per the entire unit’s luxury needs. Even with all the shortcomings, we shot the sequence in adrenaline rush, but it turned out to be a larger than life shot.”

While Aditya is currently on a vacation to celebrate his sister’s birthday, Mouni has been offered a couple of roles by various production houses but nothing has worked out till now.

Sara Khan who essayed the role of Shalu surprisingly expressed her unhappiness saying, “Initially, when I bagged the character and started shooting, I found my role to be very interesting and attractive. Later, I started getting this feeling that my character could not breathe and there were a lot many confusions as to what kind of personality does Shalu hold. It was only then that I realised that all my efforts were going in vain.”

Observes producer Yash Patnaik, “I think Junoon was a fantastic star-studded show. One show with such a reputed cast was difficult to manage as we had a different space and a different genre also. So yes, maybe we could not pull off the show as much as what we intended to, but the result was definitely satisfying.”

All said and done, three cheers to team Junoon!!!
