We in conversation with actor and now a dancer, Rithvik Dhanjani…

Rithvik Dhanjani, a wild card entrant of Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 – Dancing with the stars has made his entry to the Top 3 by winning the judges’ and audiences’ hearts. The actor showcased fantastic dance acts and set the stage on fire with his extraordinary dancing skills.

Now as the journey of Jhalak is nearing its end, We chats with Rithvik to know more about his dance journey, special moments, his favorite acts on the show and much more…

How was the experience of being a part of the show?
It is a once in a lifetime experience for an actor who loves dancing. His dreams cannot come closest to be true if it’s not on Jhalak. Being on this show was one of the best things that have ever happened to me in my career till date.

You have participated in Dance India Dance as a contestant but could not make it through. Now, you have got a celebrity dance reality stage to showcase your dancing talent. Any comments?
Dance India Dance goes back a long way in my life. I was actually a school student then. I had this craze about dancing and came down for the auditions and also managed to reach the Top level.
However, I quit dancing after that for a very long time. I am not a professionally trained dancer and now starting as a celebrity again is a completely different feeling.

Who was the toughest competitor for you throughout the journey?
I think it was definitely Isha Sharvani. Now since she has withdrawn from the show, on a competitive level it is really good for the three of us. However, on a personal level I have known her as a person and do not understand why this happened to her.

The toughest act you did?
All of them were equally tough. I think the aerial act was one of the most difficult performances.

Which according to you was your best performance on Jhalak?
According to me my best performance was the one where I danced the Michael Jackson way. I can say that it was my favorite performance as well. Also, the group act and the breathless act that I did towards the end was good.

You entered as a wild card entrant in the show. Did you think of reaching the Top 3?
When I entered as a wild card contestant, I didn’t actually know that I am going to make it to the Top 3. The competition was tough; I was comparatively new to all the other fellow contestants on the show. It was my talent that I had to prove to reach this level, which I successfully did. I am really very happy.

How difficult was it for you to reach to this level?
It has been a very difficult and demanding journey so to say. Acts like the aerial act and the MJ performance were not really my style. To deliver such difficult performances and also get good scores, was the baffling part for me. There have been a lot of ups and down. To sum it up, a tiring journey.

Any future plans related to your dancing talent?
I would love to continue dancing. I don’t want to stop it now. I would still want to dance as an actor.

Share one memorable moment of Jhalak?
Almost every moment on Jhalak has been memorable for me. The few moments when I got my fist perfect score. When Karan Wahi and I were pitched as Maa Da Laadla (laughs). The moment when I played Guitar for Madhuri Ma’am, those were very good moments.

Who deserves to win the show according to you?
I am in the Top 3 and I want to win the show. According to me, I want to win the show and the same holds true for Rashmi Desai Sandhu and Gurmeet Choudhary. We all want to win the show and that is the most important reason of us being a part of the show and reaching this stage too. May the best person win the show.
