Ek Mahanayak – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 18th December 2019 Written Episode

To make a stronger nation we must grow above caste, religion. Caste system can put Indian democracy in a grave danger. That’s why I want us to be first Indian, later Indian and be Indian in the end also!

Ram ji is singing bhajan while Bheema Rao plays Manjeera.

Ram ji’s wife notices her SIL lost in thought. What happened, Tai? Ram ji’s sister replies that till date she never thought of the man (husband) who had left her alone but I am thinking of him today when we are leaving this house. My vidaai happened from this house only.

Ram ji tells Bheema to go home. Tell Aai to get you ready asap. We will leave from here today. I will show you around Mhow.

Ram ji’s sister rues that they have to leave the house where they spent so many years. Ram ji’s wife says we were supposed to stay here for this much time only. Government is giving homes to officers in Daboli. Let’s see.

Ram ji takes leave of his friends. Please forgive me if I did something wrong.

Bheema asks his Aai to get him ready. I have to go with Baba to see Mhow. She fixes his hair and tells him that he is ready. Ram ji tells her to give him good clothes. He asks his other kids to come as well. His wife says who will pack stuff with me if they will all go with you. I am not keeping well. Kids also tell their Baba to take Bheema with him. Ram ji asks them if they want him to bring something for them. This is our last day here. They give him a list. Ram ji’s sister also asks her brother to bring something for him. Everyone smiles. Ram ji says I will bring whatever they will ask for. Bheema steps out wearing a coat. Shall we? Ram ji combs his hair sweetly. Bheema goes to check himself in the mirror. Everyone smiles. They watch him fix his hair in the mirror and hide a smile. Our Bheema is the best! Ram ji’s sister puts a kala teeka on his cheek.

Ram ji’s wife asks her husband why he always asks Bheema to dress up before stepping out of home. He replies that people often judge a book by its cover. I don’t regret where I come from but I will be pained if someone will try to show him down because of his caste. It will hurt him. He might belittle himself. I don’t want our son to live like that. Bheema comes out holding a book and stick. Let’s go. Ram ji asks him about the book and stick. He shares that this is his favourite book. I should hold a good book in my hand with my good attire. His mom asks her if this is the same book for which he gave away the silver locket which his Nani had given to him. Flashback shows Bheema asking the book vendor to give him that book against the silver locket. Bheema turns around proudly and finds his brother staring at him. Bheema innocently replies that Baba will get him another one. His brother (Bala) smiles. Flashback ends. Ram ji’s wife says he never returned the book and we lost the locket. Bheema says locket wouldn’t have taught me what this book has taught me. It is a science book. It tells what happens around us and the world and why. Will a locket tell us that? Everyone looks at him in amazement. Ram ji asks his wife to answer Bheema now. Will that locket tell your son all that? She folds hands in front of both of them. You two are great. Go quickly now. Bheema asks his father to come. Ram ji tells his wife he will mortgage himself if Bheema will ask him for anything and he wont have money to buy it for him. She smiles.

Ram ji shows Church, Mosque, Gurudwara and Temple to Bheema. Someone stays here (God, Khuda, Waheguru and Bhagwan). Bheema asks him if they are different and why they stay in separate places. His father explains that they only have different names. They are same though. It is like sky. We can divide the land but not sky. Bheema says this is why sky is of one colour – blue. His father nods. A man steps out of the temple with his son. The man helps his son ring the temple bell. Bheema too is eager to do it. Ram ji looks on helplessly. Is it important? Bheema insists upon doing it. Ram ji says we don’t have to go to temple to ring the bell. We can do it from here also. Bheema asks him how. Ram ji lifts him in his arms. Close your eyes and imagine that the bell is right above your head. Ring it when I tell you to. Bheema does as told. Ram ji notices a woman stepping out of the temple. He tells Bheema to wave his hand just when she is about to touch the bell. Bheema smiles hearing the sound of temple bell just when he waves his hand in the air.

Ram ji’s senior bids him adieu in front of other policemen. One guy is reluctant to clap as he is of higher caste. He tells his friends the same logic but they still clap for Ram ji.

Kids put their luggage in the cart. Few kids taunt Bheema. Your father has been fired from his job. Clap now. Bheema says he has retired from his job. The kids ask other policemen standing nearby to tell the truth to Bheema. One of them say you can call it retirement but he has actually been asked to leave. That same kid (who was picking the laddoo) looks on.

A few policemen tell Ram ji that they will miss him. Ram ji looks outside emotionally. Please go ahead. I will join you soon. He gets nostalgic as he steps inside a classroom. Bheema comes running to him. Why is everyone saying that you have been fired from your job? Is this true? Ram ji says world will say a lot many things. Important thing is what you think of it. If you think it is true that your Baba is retiring then let the world say anything, you must trust it. You can change everyone’s thinking with your faith. Just believe in what you think is right. Bheema nods. Ram ji and Bheema head home.

Ram ji locks the house and hands over the key to a guy. His entire family bid adieu to the house and people sadly. The same upper caste guy taunts that they must clean the house well by evening. The new officer will be here by then. His son looks at Bheema sadly. Ram ji begins to go. That kid runs towards them. He gives a toffee to Bheema who accepts it gladly. The kid runs back towards his home.

Ram ji’s daughter asks her father if they will never return here. Bheema says I come here and I will colour the house blue completely. I will paint every wall blue. I will then be able to see it even from every corner of the world. It will stand out just like the sky! Ram ji gets emotional. They leave.
