CID 15th June 2012 Written Update

Some people are doing exercise on the terrace of a building. A man named Deepak is giving instructions. Deepak declares a break for five minutes. When they are having a casual chat, they see a person falling down from a building. They conclude that someone has commited suicide and they go downstairs near the spot where the body of a man is lying.

Vivek and Abhijeet are seen investigating. Vivek turns the body and checks the man’s pockets. He shows a visiting card to abhijeet which he got from the man’s wallet. It shows that his name was Vikram, and he was chairman of some D and V developers. Abhijeet wonders that what would’ve made him commit suicide. Vivek shows keys of a car parked nearby which he had found while checking the body. Abhijeet tells him to check the car. Purvi comes there. Abhijeet says that it seems like the construction work is pending since many days. They enquire the people and they tell that they have seen the man falling, but they dont know from where he had fallen. Abhijeet further asks if the man was shouting. The people tell that they have no idea about it because there was a considerable distance between them. Meanwhile Vivek comes there and informs that RTO office has confirmed that the car belonged to Vikram. (Also, salunkhe and Tarika come and start examining the body.) Abhijeet tells Vivek that people dont know from where he had jumped on which Purvi suggests that they’ll have to check each floor. Vivek and Purvi go for checking the floors. They reach the tenth floor. Vivek orders Purvi to start checking from the terrace while he checks the tenth floor. (Vivek looked giving orders) They start checking the building.

When they dont get any clue on the floors, they go to the terrace. Purvi finds shoe prints there and vivek finds the impression of a rope on the wall of the roof. Also Vivek remarks that its strange that inspite of jumping from 18th floor, there are no bruises or scratches on the body.
They go downstairs. Vivek tells Abhijeet about the foot prints and rope impressions and predicts that Vikram must’ve jumped from the roof, but Salunkhe says that its not possible as there are no bruises on the body. Abhijeet also observes that theres not much blood spilt. So he predicts that he might’ve died before falling, but Salunkhe says that its not the case and that he has not fallen from anywhere. He says that he has died due to something heavy hitting him. Tarika points at his neck telling that some heavy thing has fallen directly on his head. Abhijeet wonders what this thing might be.

Abhijeet asks the people if they had seen something else falling with the body but they deny. They assure that they had seen only a man falling and that too in same clothes as those of the dead body. So Abhijeet concludes that its a murder and tells Vivek and Purvi to go to his place and enquire if he had any enemies and why had he gone to that place at such an early hour.
Vivek, Nikhil and Daya go to Vikram’s place. They ask his wife about the under construction building in Malad (Murder spot). She tells them to ask about that to Dipen, Vikram’s business partner. She tells them that they were in a partenership but then broke the ties due to a quarrel because Dipen had done some malpractices in the construction work. She tells that she’s scared that Dipen may harm Vikram. Daya asks her where they’d find Dipen to which she tells them to go to vikram’s office.
They reach office and question Dipen about the murder. He says he doesnt know anything about it. They ask him why did he kill Vikram, but he claims that he’s innocent. Daya asks him what is he doing in vikram’s office. He tells that they have not broken the partnership legally yet and that some formalities are still left. Daya asks him where he was in the morning. Dipen tells that he was at home but Monika (Dipen and Vikram’s secretary) was with Vikram. Monika is already sweating and looks scared. Daya asks her why she’s scared and threatens her to tell everything clearly else she’ll be taken to the bureau. Monika tells that she was with Vikram that morning. In the flashback we see Monika and Vikram in Vikram’s car, someone calls on Vikram’s cell and tells him that there’s some important work. Monika asks Vikram about it but he tells that it wasa friend and nothing so important. He tells Monika to go to the office and tells her that he’ll come later. He drops Monika and goes away. Daya asks about the phone call but Monika tells that she knows nothing abou it. Daya asks Nikhil to trace the phone call.

They go to a house. Nikhil tells that the person’s name is Johnty and he had called Vikram. Daya knocks the door. A man opens the door and Daya grabs him by his collar (Poor man. He was so lean ) They start questioning him. Daya enters his house and sees many photagraphs, maps and other such stuff. He asks Johnty about it. He asks Daya if they have a search warrant. Daya gives him a tight slap.(He is about to fall when Nikhil holds him.)

Vivek says he might be a contract killer. (Meanwhile Nikhil is constantly shaking the man ) When they tell him about the murder, he tells that he is a private detective and Vikram was his client. He opens a drawer and both Vivek and Nikhil impulsively point their guns at him. (That was a smart gesture) He takes out a file from the drawer and shows his licence. He tells that Vikram had appointed him to spy on Monika as he doubted that she was doing some fraud in the accounts. He tells that Vikram was to meet him in the morning but he didnt turn up. They decide to go to Monika’s house.
At Monika’s house,
As they enter, Vivek says that looking at her house, it seems that Monika didnt have a very good income. Daya remarks that she’s very smart and lives in such a simple house to fool people.

In forensic lab,
ACP and Salunkhe argue about the way Vikram died. Salunkhe tells that the man whom people had seen falling was not Vikram and was someone else. When ACP is about to argue again, Tarika interrupts and informs that hey had found some skin samples on the body which didnt belong to Vikram. It was someone else’s skin. The falling man was wearing same clothes as that of Vikram’s. Salunkhe describes human brain and tells how Medulla Oblongata controls all the functions of body. He tells that it is connected to spinal chord and Atlas (C1) is the starting point of the spinal chord. He shows with the help of graphics how a man might have fallen on Vikram’s head resulting into a fracture and bones damaged his Medulla Oblongata resulting into his death.

Abhijeet, Purvi and Vivek again reach the construction site to search for the other man. They enquire the people about how long they took to reach the spot. They tell that it took them 3 to 4 minutes also they didnt see anyone running away. They again go inside the building. There Abhijeet spots a brand new hook of a harness. They wonder what its doing there when the construction work is not going on since a long time. Abhijeet sees the foot prints and the rope impressions and then he predicts that a man might be standing there holding the rope while the other man was jumping and he might have brought the hook. They also see rope impressions on the water tank which shows that the rope was tied to the tank.
Purvi says that Monika is behind all this . Abhijeet says that she has commited a blunder, eloping and she’ll have to pay for it.

In lab Salunkhe and Tarika are conducting some tests, when ACP enters. Salunkhe shows him the results. It shows cyclo dimethyl cyclo metambulate (I didnt hear the name properly but it was something like this) a chemical which they found in the wounds on Vikram’s hands and Salunkhe tells that this chemical is used to preserve dead bodies and the sample found in Vikram’s body is applied 4 days ago. But as Vikram was alive 4 days ago, they conclude that this chemical was used on another body which fell on Vikram. Purvi wonders how murderer knew that Vikram would stand exactly at that place where body was thrown. ACP explains that it was planned and more than one people were involved in it who knew Vikram. One of them called Vikram at that spot and while they were busy chatting his accomplice threw the body.
ACP, Freddy and Nikhil go to different morgues to enquire if any body is missing. They reach the last morgue. ACP asks the attendant if any body is missing but he denies. ACP finds the red shirt similar to Vikram’s shirt in the dust bin of morgue. When they ask the attendant about it, he tries to run. Nikhil grabs him and slaps him. He accepts that he had sold a body (infact lent it for 2-3 hours) for money. They take him to the bureau for drawing a sketch of the person who borrowed the body. After the sketch is done, ACP asks Nikhil to check the person in criminal records. Purvi comes along with Shruti. She says that she cant believe that Monika has done this. ACP says Monika betrayed Vikram for money and when he came to know about it, they killed him. Nikhil comes with the sketch and tells that there is no mention of this person in criminal records. ACP shows that sketch to shruti and asks if she knows him. She says she hasnt seen him before. Nikhil gets a call and he informs ACP that Monika’s mother lives in a small village. Daya, Vivek and Nikhil go to her place. Her mother says that Monika cant do this and she must be in trouble. She tells that she spends most of her salary for the treatment of her mother which justifies her simple living. She also tells that Monika hadnt visit caer mother since a day before. Daya assures Monika’s mother that she will return safely if she’s innocent. They go to Vikram’s office and ask the watchman about Monika. He tells that he had last seen Monika when they had come for enquiry for the first time. She completed a meeting and then took an auto to go home. They enquire the auto rikshaw drivers. One of them tells she was asking for an auto to meira road. But then she went away in a small red car.

Daya remembers of having seen that red car. They reach Johnty’s place. A man crosses their car as they enter. Daya breaks open the door in his trademark style. But there’s no trace of Johnty inside. Suddenly Daya realises that the man they saw outside was the one who had borrowed dead body from the morgue. They go out and chase that man. They discover that he has a fake beard and he is Johnty. When they interrogate him, he tells that he was paid for that and someone else is behind this. Then we see a man sitting in dark and someone calls on his cell. The caller tells that he knows him and also knew Vikram and Monika. He tells that CID thinks that Vikram is murdered by Monika, but he knows the truth. The man asks the caller what he wants from him. Caller asks him to meet him near Madh Island at 12 at night. The man decides to go and see Monika first and then meet this person.
Monika is tied up to a chair and is pleading to this man to let her go. The man takes out his gun and is about to kill Monika, when there is a sudden gunshot. Abhijeet appears with a gun in his hand. Vivek runs to chase the man who was going to kill Monika and he is none other than Deepak who was the witness of the murder. He tells that he was after Vikram’s wife and thats whyhe hired Johnty. Abhijeet delivers a different kind of phaansi dialogue. Monika is worried about her mother. Abhijeet tells that her mother is fine and they’ve informed her that she is fine as well
