CID 31st August 2012 Written Update by visrom

Gunehgaar CID officer Rajat

Scene: 1

A lady and her daughter are on their way to school when the girl’s shoes became dirty. They stop at a well and the mother draws out some water from the well and pours it on the shoes to wash it. When the water touches the girl’s leg she cries out saying that her legs are burning and the mother is shocked to see fumes coming out of the bucket. On peeping into the well they find remains of dead bodies in it.

Scene 2:

CID team comprising of Abhijeet, Daya and Purvi arrive on the spot and are shocked to see the bodies in the well. They decide to look around in the nearby bungalow, presuming that it was not easy to kill so many people elsewhere and dump the bodies here. After some searching they reach a somewhat deserted house locked from inside Daya kicks open the door(after a long time we got to see this scene ). They enter to see blood all over the floor and several knives which were probably used to kill the victims. They also find a dead girl. Suddenly they hear the sound of the shower in the bathroom. On entering they find a man under the shower covered in blood. The man turns and to their shock it’s none other than Sr Insp Rajat (he looked like a vampire in this shot with blood flowing down his face, eyes and mouth.)

Scene 3: Bureau

Rajat is questioned by ACP, Abhijeet and Daya , but he denies having killed tor even knowing the girl. Daya shows a photo of the girl and Rajat gets a vague memory of the girl’s face, she shouting to Rajat to ‘get up’ and a knife in front of her face, but nothing is clear in his mind. He again denies knowing her. ACP explains that Salunkhe had tested the blood which was flowing through his body and it was the same as that of the dead girl. The knife with which the girl was killed also had Rajat’s fingerprints on it.

Salunke calls ACP and tells him that he needs to test Rajat’s blood. ACP asks Daya to take Rajat to the lab.

Scene 4: Lab

ACP, Daya, Nikhil and Shreya arrive with Rajat. (I thought ACP had ‘asked’ Daya to take Rajat to the lab )

Salunkhe tells ACP that the water in the well had lots of ‘sulphatrate’ – a powerful chemical ( I googled this but couldn’t find a match , if anyone knows the exact word, please tell me) The chemical was powerful enough to dissolve even bones and metals.

Freddie arrives and tells ACP that the dead girl used to work in Delta hospital. ACP asks Nikhil to keep an eye on Rajat. The rest of them leave for the hospital.

Tarika gets a needle ready to get Rajat’s blood sample. Rajat suddenly fishes out a knife from his sleeve, grabs Tarika and puts the knife near her neck. Salunkhe rushes out from his inner chamber. Rajat asks Nikhil and Salunkhe to hand over their mobile, Nikhil to give his car keys too. ( Sub Insp Nik comes to work in a car??? Guru Sr Insp Daya drives a Bullet)

Rajat asks Nikhil to cut the wire of the lab’s landline (to stop them from communicating with ACP) and escapes with Tarika.

Scene 5: Hospital

Freddie shows the photo of the dead girl to the receptionist. She recognises the dead girl as Sasha – one of the nurses in the hospital. She tells ACP that the previous evening, Sasha was a bit worried and was talking to Dr Raghav. ACP asks the receptionist to call Dr Raghav.

Scene 6: Road

Tarika stops the car by the roadside. She scolds Rajat for having kidnapped her in this manner. Rajat explains to her that he had not committed the murder and he needed her help. Tarika says that she would prefer dying to helping a criminal. Rajat tells her that he was a CID cop and if he had indeed committed a murder he wouldn’t allow himself to be caught red-handed. He leaves the mobiles and guns in the car, puts a sad expression and walks out of the car helplessly – which melts Tarika’s heart.

Scene 7: Hospital

Dr Raghav tells ACP that Sasha was telling him the previous evening about a patient’s son who had scolded her. On asking which patient’s son had scolded her, the doctor says that the patient was Mr Vinay and his son was CID officer Rajat. ACP is shocked that Rajat never told them about his father’s illness and that he had also denied knowing the nurse Sasha.

At that time ACP’s phone rings and Nikhil tells him about how Rajat had kidnapped Tarika. ACP asks Shreya to call Sachin and ask him to trace Rajat’s whereabouts.

ACP and the others to Rajat’s father’s room but find him missing. ACP suddenly remembers a moustached man pushing a patient in a wheelchair walking past him and realises that it was Rajat in disguise, who had probably taken his father out of the hospital.

Outside the hospital, Rajat gets into an ambulance in whichTarika is waiting for him. There he explains he reason for his actions to Tarika.

Flashback

Scene 8 : Hospital

Rajat is sitting by the bedside of his father, apologising for not spending enough time with him, as his duty demanded a lot of his time. His father asks for water and Rajat finds that there’s no water in the room. He goes out to find the nurse Sasha talking to another doctor. Rajat scolds her for not refilling water in patient’s rooms and grabs the jug from her hand.

Rajat then helps his father drink water. After drinking water, Rajat’s dad starts mumbling something about ‘khoon’ in a bungalow near the Jetty and tells him to ‘destroy evidence’. He adds that the key to the bungalow (Ashish Bungalow) was under the flower pot and asks for ‘help’.

Scene 9: Seashore

Rajat stands on the seashore and ponders over his dad’s words. He is confused and wonders if his dad was involved in any crime or was he just being delirious due to medication.

Scene 10: Ashish Bungalow

Rajat reaches the door and finds the key under the flower pot as mentioned by his dad.. He enters the house and finds blood all over the floor as mentioned by his dad. He wonders how his dad knew about it and whether his dad was indeed a murderer.

Back to present.

Scene 11: Bureau

ACP, Abhijeet and Daya wonder why Rajat had first kidnapped Tarika and then escaped with his dad from the hospital.

Suddenly Rajat enters, surrenders to CID and hands over his phone and gun.

ACP asks Rajat as to where his father is. Rajat refuses to reveal this. ACP asks him to explain the connection between the murders and the nurse and Delta hospital but Rajat refuses to speak.

Salunkhe enters and informs CID team that the blood which was found on the floor of the bungalow had glycerol in it, which meant that this was obtained from a blood bank where glycerol is added to blood for preserving it.

Salunkhe also explains that this method of preserving blood was used in Delta hospital, where Rajat’s father was admitted.

Scene 12: Delta hospital

Daya checks the receipts of blood purchased from the bank and finds that all the bottles were requisitioned by one Dr Anoop in the past 2 days. Dr Raghav tells ACP that Dr Anoop had just left and tells him that he would give ACP Anoop’s contact number.

Scene 13: Bureau

Freddie and Nikhil have a casual conversation about people in the hospital coming to ACP with weird ‘complaints’ like wife beating husband, missing dog etc. On listening to the word ‘complaint’ Rajat sitting in the inner room wonders if his father too was complaining against someone.

He gets up and tries to walk out of the bureau. Freddie and Nikhil try to stop him but Rajat explains that it was a very important business.

Scene 14: Medical shop.

Daya calls the medical shop and asks about prescriptions written by Dr Anoop. The shopkeeper tells Daya that Dr Anoop had indeed called him a few minutes back and told him that one of his patients Vinay (Rajat’s father) was a fraud and had asked the shopkeeper to inform him if anyone came there with Vinay’s prescription.

Daya is surprised and asks him if anyone had come with Vinay’s prescription. The shopkeeper says that a tall girl with curly hair had come some time back and after she left, he had called Anoop and given her the girl’s address.

Scene 15: Hospital

Rajat meets the CID team and apologises for his actions. ACP asks Rajat as to who was the curly haired girl who had gone to purchase medicines for his father. Rajat reveals that it was none other than Tarika. ACP wonders as to why Dr Anoop had gone after Tarika.

Scene 16: Rajat’s house

Tarika looks after Rajat’s dad. She goes to close the window and is shocked to see someone. She becomes alert and looks around the house. She takes her gun out and walks around the house, but someone comes behind her and places a gun on her head.

He asks her where Rajat’s father is. She refuses to tell him. He’s about to shoot her when Rajat comes in and shoots at his hand.

Scene 17: Confession

Anoop reveals that he was running an organ-transplant racket in the hospital. He used to get organs illegally and then kill the person and throw the body into the well to prevent the bodies from being found.

Rajat’s father had heard the conversation between him and Sasha and had told Rajat something about it. This worried him, therefore Anoop got Sasha’s blood from the bank and thrown it around the house.

When Rajat entered the house, Anoop had sprayed something to make him unconscious. Then he had placed the knife in Rajat’s hand. Sasha came towards Rajat and called out to him. Rajat in his half-unconscious state had shown her the knife. Sasha was worried and ran towards Anoop asking him what was happening but Anoop stabbed her and killed her.

Anoop adds that Sasha used to initially help in running the organ racket but had later started blackmailing him. So he had decided to kill 2 birds with one stone.

ACP tells Anoop that he would get phaasi.

In the end, Rajat apologises to ACP. ACP tells Rajat that to a CID officer, duty has to be placed above all.
