Diya Aur Baati Hum 20th August 2012 Written Update

Short Update:
The Judge tastes Sooraj’s innovative dish and praises him for cooking an Indian dish with western stuffing using minimum number of ingredients. Sooraj receives the highest score in the final round. While everyone celebrates his win, the Judge becomes unconscious after tasting Mathie’s poisoned dish. Chaturi plans to reveal Rajkumar’s false identity to Santosh. She asks Meenakshi for Santosh’s number but Meenakshi tries to stop her and accidentally pushes her off a hill.

Detailed Update:
Episode starts with contestants ready with their dishes. The judges Gary and the other one enter the contest room. They start with Brandon’s dish first. They send 2 plates of the dishes to the other two WTC judges through a person. Gary tastes Brandon’s dish and says good but a bit overcooked. Brandon accepts it is overcooked. Gary then comes to Suraj’s table and asks him to explain his dish. Suraj tries to explain but then Gary calls Sandy to come and translate. Sandhya translates Suraj’s description that daal baati is a famous Rajasthani dish and he has tried to make it with fruits stuffing and tells it is a fusion dish of Western and Indian, etc. Gary tastes the dish and is amazed. He appreciates it and Suraj too as he thought Suraj got minimum ingredients and with no combination that now he cannot believe Suraj has prepared such a delicious dish. Gary is excited and names the dish as Suraj baati. SurYa are happy to hear this. Bhabho and Bhabhasa could not understand what Gary is saying but Bhabhasa says he is praising Suraj for sure. Gary then comes to Mathie’s table. She explains her dish and Gary tastes it. He is taking more bites of it in order to judge it and says it is good but has some bad smell to it.

In Pushkar, Meena and Sudha run away from Chathuri who is following them and get into a crowd of people who are going to a hill temple. They were singing bhajans and applying colors that Meena and Sudha apply those colors and hide from Chathuri. Chathuri once misses them due to the colors and the crowd but when Meena is praying to her pahadi waale baba for saving them from Chathuri, she catches them again. She tells Meena she wanted to tell something important about RK and that he is not from her village. Meena is cursing herself that Chathuri also knows RK’s truth now. Chathuri asks for Bhabho’s phone number. Meena tries to escape saying she does not have it but Chathuri tells she knows Meena has the number and asks her to give her purse. They both hold the purse and have a tug of war in which finally Meena pushes her hand and Chathuri misses balance and rolls down the steps, down the hill and is not able to be seen. Meena and Sudha are shocked. Meena cries out for Chathuri and Sudha accuses her of killing Chathuri.

In Singapore, everyone are eager to know the scores of the contestants. The screen shows the three judges names and first they display Brandon’s scores. He gets 7 from the first judge, 7 from the second judge and Gary gives him 6 totaling 20/30 points.

Next is Suraj. All are eagerly watching the screen. The first judge gives 10 points, the second judge also gives 10 points and Gary also gives 10 points. Suraj is in tears seeing his points. Bhabho and Bhabhasa are happy and proud that he got 30/30 points. Viewers from India are happy discussing with their family members who ask them to wait for Mathie’s scores as what if Mathie also gets equal points.

Next is Mathie’s scores. The first judge gives 10 points. Mathie is excited and Jayanth and the kid are happy. The second judge gives 9 points and Mathie is unhappy. Jayanth is upset and thinks Mathie will not take this loss so easily and is worried about what would she do. Gary gives her 9 points totalling 28 points, so Suraj is the clear winner. Gary announces Suraj as the winner. Sandhya goes to Suraj and tries to tell that he has won but could not complete the sentence in happiness and hugs him.

Mathie is thinking that why is her (poisonous) dish not showing its effect and Gary is coming down from the stage and falls down unconscious. All are shocked.

PRECAP: Mathie is accusing Suraj for spoiling her dish and Suraj denies it.
