“Ekta gave me an outstanding narration for my role”

says Ashwini Kalsekar who will be seen playing the role of Mahamanga in Ekta Kapoor’s Jodha Akbar on Zee TV.

The talented actress Ashwini Kalsekar who has entertained the audience with her acting skills and performance in shows like Kasamh Se, K Street Pali Hill, Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahani Jhansi Ki Raani, Virudh, Ganga Ki Dheej among many others is all set to make a comeback with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms historical show Jodha Akbar which will air on Zee TV.
On the same we got in touch with her to know more about her character and she said, “I have researched as much as I can for the role of Mahamanga through the internet. But moreover, I have left it on Ekta because she knows it well as to how she wants me to be shown onscreen, it’s her visualization as it is her script. I have completely surrendered to Ekta. She decides and narrates and I follow it.”

Further she added saying, “Ekta gave me an outstanding narration for the role of Mahamanga. In fact if it was given to anybody else too she would be very happy to do it. She has created a beautiful script with lots of research for almost 8 long months. I am sure this is going to be something huge on Indian television.”

On her shoot so far for the show she said, “As an actor I am totally enjoying being into the character of Mahamanga. It has different shades in it and I hope it turns out to be entertaining for the audience too.”

There will be comparisons of the show to the movie Jodha Akbar and its characters too she says, “As far as my character, I would say it is totally different from the characters of Mahamanga which is portrayed in the movies. According to me, I don’t think there should be any comparison between A and B, we should accept the fact that each story unfolds in a different way.”

“I am in a de-glamed avatar in this show but I believe that I am the most glamorous (smiles) looking actor in this white saree. Everybody’s costume is glamorous in this show and the casting by Ekta is superb as always. I am just waiting for the feedback of the audience towards the show.” she ended.
