Get tickled with Colors’ Comedy Nights with Kapil

Ever heard of a completely wacked out family that has crazy members stuck in hilarious situations every day?

Well, get set to laugh out loud as Kapil Sharma will soon be on your TV screens with his crazy, quirky family only on Colors’ with the new show – Comedy Nights with Kapil. This is your perfect opportunity to enjoy a weekend of uninterrupted laughter and rip-roarious funny moments with this new variant of comedy.

The launch yesterday at Filmcity, Mumbai, got the cast together for an introduction and a sneak peek of the madness that the audience will witness soon. Providing a distinctive take on everyday life of a common man, the show explores the story of every household and how the common man is affected by the simplest issues in life around him.
The show boasts of a talented cast portraying various roles like the diva wife Mrs. Sharma (Sumona Chakravarti), the meddlesome-filmy Daadi (Ali Asgar), the unmarried eccentric Bua (Upasana Singh), an annoying servant (Naseem Vicky), Kapil’s secretary (Soni Singh), while talented theatre actor and comedian Sunil Grover will don several unconventional characters throughout the series.

This is the first time ever that Kapil will be producing his own show while donning the hat of a script writer and actor simultaneously. Speaking on his multitask venture, Kapil Sharma said, “I am thankful to Colors for giving me this opportunity and providing me with such a big canvas for my creative ideas. The USP of the show is the interactive setting where I get to engage a live set of audiences. Making people laugh is an addiction for me and with a topical script and a great ensemble cast we hope to bring to the audiences, a show they can sit back and enjoy.”

Manisha Sharma, Weekend Programming Head, Colors commented, “With the launch of Comedy Nights with Kapil we are extending our comedy band which will amplify the entertainment quotient of our programming lineup on weekends.”

Adding to this blockbuster family will be none other than the Master of Entertainment, Navjot Singh Sidhu playing Kapil’s friend and confidante who enjoys Sharma’s household banter. As Navjot Singh Sidhu puts in, “I am enjoying every minute on the show with Kapil. The show offers a comic take on problems of a common man and I will be seen providing my two bits in his eccentric family opinions.”

Comedy Nights with Kapil, is an amalgamation of participative and interactive comedy; where Sharma ji will be seen interacting with a live set of audiences, sharing his problems and looking for solutions; while he will also engage in a fun interactive session with celebrity guests every weekend.

In the launch week Kapil Sharma and his ‘tedhi-medhi’ family will quiz and indulge with celebrity guests like Dharmendra, Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi in rib tickling laughter sessions.

Comedy Nights with Kapil is a co- production between Kapil’s K9 Productions and SOL Production Pvt Ltd and starts 22 June, every Saturday and Sunday at 10pm.
