Ghar Aaja Pardesi team shoots in Banaras

Sahara One’s Ghar Aaja Pardesi (Sai Baba Telefilms) gets back to its roots.

Going by the current track, we have seen that Rudrani (Pooja Banerjee), who has been staying in London with her parents, wants to come down to Banaras to locate her grandfather Bhavani Shankar Mishra (Vikram Gokhale).

Hence in the upcoming episodes of the serial, Rudrani will convince her father Raghav (Mahesh Thakur) to let her come to India. Unaware of the fact that their daughter wants to meet her grandparent, her father will let her visit India.

Once here, Rudrani will land in Banaras and explore the place before locating her loved one.

Since, Rudrani’s arrival in India had to be shot in Banaras, the entire unit had to travel to the holy city. After the team shot there for three long days, the cast and the crew returned to Mumbai in the wee hours of the morning today (1 April 2013).

The Bengali lass Pooja found the city pretty fascinating as she told us, “I had to shoot a scene with few saints of which one of them just came up to me and asked if I had watched Dabangg. I was surprised because I had come across a spiritual man with a filmy query for the first time. But, I understood it when he told me that he had done a scene in the film too (laughs).”

So what all did the actress get to experience in Banaras? “Everything there was awesome. I had to shoot for scenes in an auto rickshaw and a boat. I also attended the evening arti (prayers) which looks magnificent. I also took dips in the holy Ganga. I did feel like a tourist while shooting for the scenes there.”

Lastly, the actress also told us that initially, she was skeptical about getting into water, but later she took a dip, “I did not want to take a dip in the Ganga with all the make-up on my face but, then the scene demanded it. So I had to go ahead with it.”

We also hear that the crew had to go through some difficulty while shooting. As every time they would try rolling, people would start crowding around them. Therefore, later they planned to shoot the scenes from a distance, so gatherers around wouldn’t be able to spot the camera.

The Banaras track will air somewhere around coming Friday (5 April 2013).
