Himanshu ‘Buddha’ Soni meets spiritual leader Dalai Lama in Dharamsala

Himanshu Soni who plays the title role in B.K. Modi’s Buddha on Zee TV was overwhelmed when he got the chance to meet his Holiness Dalai Lama in Dharamsala recently.

The show has been talked about for its unique subject, performances and costumes and is one of the most well-researched shows on a religious leader. Produced by BK Modi, the concept has been very close to his heart, and post delays in making a film on the subject, he decided to showcase his ambitious project on TV.

Buddha, the great spiritual leader has been a source of inspiration for millions of people across the globe. And actor Himanshu Soni who plays the lead, got an opportunity to meet His Holiness Dalai Lama on 2 April as part of his learning for the show. With the producer being an ardent follower of the leader, he organised a special meet for Himanshu so that he could take blessings from him as he embarks on his journey of playing Buddha in the show.

An excited Himanshu says, “The aura of Dalai Lama was amazing. He is such a positive person. Meeting him was like a dream. I was mesmerized by his sheer presence. In the show my character is under the process of transformation from Siddhartha to Buddha. From the time I started doing Buddha it has been my heart’s desire to meet Dalai Lama. Since producer B.K. Modi is a follower of Buddha and Dalai Lama, I got an opportunity to meet Dalai Lama in person. I feel lucky as well as blessed.”

This truly must have been an enlightening experience for Himanshu.
