How is it working with a channel like SAB TV for the first time?

SAB TV is not new to me because I have seen a lot of work of this channel. I also know the concepts of shows that SAB TV has aired till now. Many a times it has happened that I have wanted to do something with the channel but did not work out. But yes working on a new channel is altogether a new experience. It will be an experience that I would like to go through. I also feel that the kind of positivity which the channel gives us through the channel and its new concepts, the message of happiness and togetherness that we get from the shows is amazing and something that I have always loved.

What is your character all about?

I won’t be playing a constant character. Mein aati-jaati rahugi. I will be portraying the character of Laal Singh’s (Rajesh Kumar) mausi and babuji’s (Alok Nath) sister-in-law who hails from North India. Since I have not shot for the show till now, I will be able to tell you what the character is and what I will be doing with it once I start shooting for the show.

We have seen you cutting the heroine’s finger in aggression in your recent film; what kind of nature will you showcase here?

My character will be definitely very different this time. As far as my role in Goliyon Ki Raasleela – Ramleela is concerned, that was very different than what I am playing now. Since I have not started shooting for the show, I do not know much about my character. But all that I can say is my character is extremely lovable.

You are doing films along with television, how satisfied are you when it comes to your characters?

I am satisfied by acting. I always tell people ki mujhse acting karva lijiye. It could be anywhere; be it theaters, dramas, films or television. Since very long I have a desire to do theaters but for some reasons did not really get the time to do. So I am hoping this year I might get time to do some good theater dramas.

Why theater?

Theater because I truly believe the way an actor can grow while doing theaters is incredible. Acting in front of live audience and getting their responses on the spot is something that can shake you up as an actor. It can teach you so much more which is what I have a desire to do now.

You entered television with a romantic role, then came on to television. Later again went on to do something different through Ram Leela and now again back with a very lovable role. How do you manage to alternate between such varied characters?

I enjoy acting. I enjoy doing different characters. I had this desire of being too many things. For example I wanted to be a lawyer, a doctor and many other things. I knew we cannot do everything in just one life so I took a very smart step of becoming an actor. And now through this I want to play all the characters.

After a very long time you are coming back to this genre. What are you expecting from the show?

I really have no idea. I am as keen at experiencing it and really looking forward to it. I want to get into it and see how it is going to be. All I am expecting from my cast is they like my work and I have always expected that they enjoy and they like want I am doing and I can give them pleasure.

Do you miss playing Hansaa from the very popular show Khichdi?

Very much! I really miss playing Hansaa. I do not think Hansaa jaisa koi character ho sakta hain. Hansaa sirf ek hi hain. Hansaa hare ek cheez mein honi chahiye because it has got so much pleasure. She gives me pleasure, she gives the audience pleasure. And that is something that I really, honestly feel in today’ stressful time what else can we want?

Truly an inspiring lady you are Supriya Pathakji. We wishes you all the good luck for your future projects.
