Karan Singh Grover speaks on his personal and professional life….

Karan Singh Grover is back after a break on the small screen. However during this break he was fruitfully busy as he was shooting for the paranormal thriller, Lorie. He says about the film and his break, “It’s a Sahara produced film co-starring Diana Hayden based on a true story written by Ipsita Roy Chakraverti who is a wiccan in real life. It’s a very different role as it is very serious and spooky. Also as I had got married and had personal commitments too therefore the break from TV.”

Karan plays Asad Ahmed Khan on Zee TV’s Qubool Hai. Regarding preparation for Qubool Hai, he had to work on his Urdu diction. The Qubool Hai team had a diction teacher to train the actors. He candidly says, “It is still very difficult for me to speak, think and create scenes in Urdu.”

About the plot Karan reveals, “It is a very intense and painful story that you will see. I can’t tell you more but it will make you cry.” So does he use glycerine to cry on screen? “I have never needed glycerine to cry as there is a lot of sadness in my life,” he replies.

Questions meander towards his lady killer tag. He jokingly replies, “I haven’t killed any lady as yet. I do enjoy that tag but I am a married man now. My wife is the only one who can keep me under control.”

So how has matrimony changed him? He replies, “My alcohol consumption is very limited. Social gatherings are also less now. Other than that I am getting good home cooked food and I am living a very healthy life.” What is the most important thing that he has learnt from Jennifer? “From Jennifer I have learnt how to come to shoot on time,” he answers.

When will we see Jennifer Singh Grover next on TV? Karan informs us, “Her show will hopefully start in the beginning of next year. It’s being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and will be on Star Plus.”

Has he written any letters to his dear wife? His honest reply is, “I did write a note saying that I would be back by 10pm. I however do believe in writing letters with pen and paper which is why I am not too fond of Facebook. I do have a Facebook account though but my dad handles it for me.”
