Star Parivaar Awards completes judging process; ground event on 15 June

It’s that time of the year when your favourite stars from across Star Plus shows come together to live a night replete with glitz and glamour. Yes, one of the most celebrated events on Indian television, Star Parivaar Awards is back and this time it promises to be bigger and better.

Recently, a jury meet was held wherein four noted personalities from the world of entertainment came together to judge the best of talent from the current crop of actors featuring in Star Plus shows.

The jury panel included Anil Wanvari, CEO and Founder of Indiantelevision.com, Bhawana Somaaya, a famous film critic, journalist and author, Producer J D Majethia (Hats Off Productions), and Ashvini Yardi, co-owner at Grazing Goats Production.

The judging was done in around 16 categories.

We got in touch with Anil Wanvari and he shared, “I have been on the Star Parivaar Awards jury for the past four years now. This year, it was even more fun as we had a very good jury. We spent close to six hours watching all the entries which had been shortlisted by the team. We marked each entry, without discussing the details with each other. I must admit that Star Plus’ shows have some of the finest talent. I was amazed to see some of the performances. Now I know why the channel manages to be on the top always in the numbers game. It was great being on the panel with industry colleagues such as Ashvini, Bhawana and JD. Additionally, it was good meeting up with Star’s Anil Jha who I believe is the driving force behind the SPA.”

The day-long jury meet was held at Courtyard Marriot, in Mumbai’s Andheri suburb.

We also had a word with J D Majethia. He said: “I was happy when I was called to be a jury at the Star Parivaar Awards. It was great fun being at the meet and spending time with like minded people. The performances were all good and it was difficult choosing the winners. But overall, I had fun.”

The auditor for the awards process and voting is Pricewaterhousecoopers.

Apart from the jury categories, viewers can also vote for four other popular categories. Log on to starplus.in for more details.
