Actress Supriya Shukla, who essayed the role of Ramila Hasmukhlal Vaishnav in Colors’ Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki, is no longer part of the show. The actress has decided to quit the project, as she has bagged a meaty role in Balaji Telefilms’ upcoming show on Zee TV, Kumkum Bhagya (a news which we have exclusively reported earlier).

Coming in to replace Supriya as Ramila will be noted Gujarati actress Chhaya Vora. Chhaya, who is a known Gujarati theatre artist, was last seen in Life OK’s Alakshmi.

A source says that the makers (Anahita / Cinematra Productions) tried their best to convince Supriya to be part of Sanskaar as her character had been well-established. However, Supriya had to take the call of quitting Sanskaar as she required all her dates for Kumkum Bhagya, where she would essay the central character of mother to the two female protagonists, Sriti Jha and Mrunal Thakur.

When contacted, Supriya confirmed the news stating, “Yes, I have to quit Sanskaar for Kumkum Bhagya. Having said this, I have had a splendid time working for Sanskaar. I know both Swapnaji (Waghmare Joshi) and Shaliniji (Thackeray) very well, and it was very sweet of them to let me go. I would say I have always been lucky to have worked with good Producers. I co-operated with them till the time they found the cast to play Ramila. Now that the replacement is here, I have moved on for good.”

We then buzzed Chhaya Vora, who said, “I had definitely given my audition for Sanskaar. But I have not yet heard from them. It will be nice to get a positive reply though.”

Here’s wishing the two ladies all the very best!!
