You never know what will happen next in a daily soap: Dishank Arora

Dishank Arora, who plays the younger brother Pratik in Zee TV’s Punar Vivah, is taking the change in the track, from the remarriage stage to the sudden appearance of Akash (Akshay Dogra), who was till now an unknown brother, in his stride.

“These things happen in all daily soaps. Plots keep changing and you never know what will happen next. You always have to go with the flow,” he explains.

Dishank who has, in real life, an elder sister says, “Friction between brothers is very common in society though we haven’t covered this negative side of family life in our show yet. The entire focus is currently on Akash from who is he, what he wants and why has he come back at this point of time etc.”

Taking about his character’s mind frame at the moment, this cute guy avers, “It is getting difficult for him, for he not only has to accept one brother but an elder one at that. As for the character that I play, being the youngest of the lot Pratik is a sheer talkative guy. Yash (Gurmeet Choudhary), on the other hand, is the one who always talks to the point. Another quality of Pratik is that he loves his family so much that he is ready to take on anyone if he feels that his kith and kin are under any form of attack.”

Prior to Punar Vivah, Dishank has done a number of shows like Love Ne Mila Di Jodi, Kismat and Main Laxmi Tere Aangan Ki among others. When asked as to what went wrong with the YRF Sony show Kismat, to which he answers,“ I don’t know, it was a good show and we all worked hard for it. It was not a normal daily drama, on the contrary it was a short series in which we got to play large amount of variations in our characters as the story spanned six decades in an equal number of months.”

Looking ahead, Dishank is game for shows in which he has to play the lead. “I had done the main character in Imagine TV’s Armanon Ka Balidaan-Aarakshan, post the leap. Mostly, I have played a younger brother in shows.”

He also does not feel that he needs to change his facial features by growing a beard or moustache to look more mature. “I am cool the way I am and have no hang ups to wait for my day in the scorching sun,” Dishank concludes.
