Shweta Gautam to join the cast of Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka

Colors’ popular show Sasural Simar Ka (Rashmi Sharma Productions) will see a new family entering this week.

As reported exclusively by us actor Siddharth Shivpuri, last seen in Colors’ Krishndasi has been roped in to play the groom of Anjali (Vaishali Takkar). We also wrote about noted actor Vikas Sethi being roped in to play Siddharth’s father.

We now hear of seasoned actress Shweta Gautam joining the cast of Sasural Simar Ka.

She will play the role of Saroj, the ‘taiji’ of Siddharth’s character. She will be the mother figure in the young lad’s life, with his real mother not alive.

As per sources, “Saroj will be a pleasing and loving personality, but will be too close to Vikram (Siddharth). And when the prospect of him getting married will arrive, she will feel insecure of the fact that his love might get divided now.”

For Shweta, this stint will mark her return to Colors after she played the mother figure in the channel’s successful love story, Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam. Also, this will be her back-to-back show with Rashmi Sharma Productions, after being seen on the production’s & TV show, Bhagyalakshmi.

When contacted, Shweta Gautam told us, “It is a pleasant feeling to get back to Colors, and also to work again with Rashmi Sharma Productions. I have always had great memories working with them. This role in Sasural Simar Ka is very interesting, and I have accepted it with great enthusiasm. I look forward to a nice track shaping up.”
