Rahasyamay Bullet – 3

Scene : A building
The maid of a house comes up walking cribbing about the out-of-order lift. She comes to the house on the 9th floor where she workd and opens the door with her keys. She finds 2 men and a lady with guns and the body of her employer (a lady). The guys try to shoot her with guns, but the maid raises alarm and the neighbours arrive.

Daya, Vivek and Vineet arrive. The 3 killers tell Daya that the dead lady Nishta was their cousin who had got custody of their ancestral land. They had decided to kill her and dispose of her body, so that the property would come to them by default.

Daya wonders as to why they had shot Nishta on the neck. Meanwhile Vivek finds a bullet stuck to a picture on the wall. Daya asks them as to how many bullets they had fired. The guys say that they are not sure.

Scene : Lab
Salunkhe tells CID team that the 3 arrested cousins of Nishta had not killed her as the bullet found in her body didn’t match with the guns which the 3 cousins had. Therefore there was another gun in the same room.

Scene : Murder spot

Daya checks and finds a bullet mark on the ceiling, a broken wine glass, a dent on a metallic wall hanging and also a bullet shell inside a flower pot hanging in the balcony – which implied that a gun had dropped down to the balcony from an upper floor which landed on the hanging flower pot, misfired under its own under the impact and the bullet had deflected on 3-4 surfaces and then hit Nishta.
Daya goes to the upper floors to investigate. The 10th floor had a couple – Manan and Shimona. Daya and the others search their flat but do not find anything fishy. They both tell Daya that they were at office when the murder happened.
The 11th floor had an irritable man by name Aghosh and his son. Daya searches the house ignoring Aghosh’s protests. Vivek and Vineet search the house but find nothing. Daya asks Aghosh as to where he was when the murder happened. Aghosh says that he was sleeping and his son says that he was watching a music channel on high volume. Daya says that it’s suspicious that Aghosh’s son was listening to high volume music and his father could sleep. Aghosh says that he would call the media and inform them about how CID was harrassing people.

While going out the secretary of the building tells Daya that Aghosh’s divorced wife lives in Paris and a maid by name Tanya does the house work. Vivek asks him as to why Tanya was not to be seen. The secretary says that she might have gone shopping.

CID team then go to the terrance. Daya finds that the lock to the terrace door was broken. Daya finds footprints on the floor made of a sticky substance. Daya follows the footprints and finds that it reaches the parapet wall which was directly above Nishta’s balcony, which meant that the gun had fallen down from that point. Vineet finds a bullet stuck to the wall on the terrace. Daya concludes that some firing had taken place on the terrace and its possible that another murder would have happened. vineet suggests that since many people had gathered when Nishta’s murder happened at the same time, the second murderer on the terrace might have waited till it was dark and then take the body out of the building.

Scene : Lab
Salunkhe says that the bullet found on the terrance matched with the bullet found in Nishta’s neck. Tarika explains that the sticky substance found on the terrace was mustard oil (sarson ka tel) which is used in cooking. ACP wonders where the second gun had vanished.

Scene : Building

It’s late at night. Daya questions the watchman – who was looking scared. The watchman explains that he had got a call from an aatma who was in flat no 900, which was vacant from the time the building was constructed. The aatma had ordered the watchman to go home immediately. Daya tells the watchman that the caller was none other than the murderer who had frightened the watchman away so that he could take the body out.
Scene : Flat no 900

Vivek and Vineet enter with the watchman. The flat shows no symptoms of neglect, meaning the flat was not really vacant and someone was indeed staying there. Vivek finds that the kitchen tap was dripping. Vineet finds a watch screw and Vivek remembers having seen Aghosh wearing a watch which had a missing screw. Vineet informs Daya.

Scene : Aghosh’s flat
Daya, Vivek and Vineet enter and ask for Aghosh’s watch. Aghosh’s son brings the watch and Vivek shows that the screw was perfectly fitting it, which probably meant that Aghosh had gone to flat no 900 to call the watchman. Aghosh denies having gone there.

Daya barges into Aghosh’s kitchen and searches for the mustard oil. Vineet finds the container having very less oil. He takes the sample. Vivek also finds oil on the floor.
Daya asks Aghosh as to where was Tanya the maid.Aghosh’s son says that she had dropped oil on the floor and Aghosh had scolded her. She went away upset and didn’t return after that.
Daya accuses Aghosh of having murdered Tanya, but Aghosh and his son deny it. Daya asks Vivek to take Aghosh into custody.

Scene : Bureau
ACP interrogates Aghosh, but Aghosh remains firm on his statement that he had no idea about Tanya and he had not killed her.He swears upon his son that he had not murdered her. Freddie tells ACP that it is possible that someone else had thrown the screw of the watch in flat no 900 to frame Aghosh. ACP asks Aghosh if he knows anything about Tanya’s relatives. Aghosh says that he has no idea about this. Nishta’s maid who also present in the bureau says that Tanya was from a village called Mevari.

Scene : Mevari
Abhijeet, Sachin and Shreya make enquiries. One man recognises Tanya from her sketch and takes them to her house. Tanya’s parents open the door and tell them that Tanya was i Mumbai. CID team members enter the house and look around but do not find her. Abhijeet tells Tanya’s parents that Tanya was missing. Tanya’s parents ask them if they knew about ‘Kittu’ who was Tanya’s husband. CID team tells them that they have no idea about Kittu. Tanya’s father asks them as to who told them that Tanya was missing. Abhijeet says that Aghosh – in whose house Tanya was working as a maid had told them. Tanya’s parents are surprised that their daughter was working as a maid.

Tanya’s parents say that even after 2 years of marriage Kittu wasn’t taking her to Mumbai, therefore they had forcibly sent her to Mumbai with Kittu the previous month. Abhijeet asks for Kittu’s photo. Tanya’s mother brings it. Abhijeet looks at the photo and recognises the guy! (How???? It was Daya who was handling the case. Abhijeet wasn’t present till now )

Scene : Murder spot(the building- late at night)
Abhijeet asks all the residents of the building to stand in a line. He tells everyone that CID team had got Tanya’s body and all of them had to come and identify the body at Pritam Nagar morgue at 9AM the next day.

Scene : Street in front of the building
Abhijeet, Sachin and Shreya wait in the Qualis at night. They see a car coming out. CID Qualis follows it. A man and woman rush to a park and start digging. After digging for some time, they get the body of Tanya at the spot they had buried her the previous day. They are surprised as to how CID team got the body of Tanya. At that moment CID team come there and catch them red-handed. They are none other than Manan and Shimona who lived in the flat immediately above Nishta’s.
Abhijeet says that the murderer’s name was Kittu. Manan asks as to who is Kittu. Sachin shows the photo and it turns out to be none other than Manan himself. Manan tries to attack Abhijeet, but Abhijeet overpowers him and gives a slap.

Scene : Bureau

Manan alias Kittu lands in the confession chair. He tells ACP that his parents had forcibly got him married to Tanya. If he hadn’t agreed to marry her, his father wouldn’t give him a share in his property. Manan and Shimona made sure Tanya got a job in Aghosh’s house. One day they stole the screw of Aghosh’s watch and left it in flat no 900 to frame Aghosh. Then Manan went to the building secretary, told him that they had no water supply, got the terrace key, went there on the pretext of checking the tank and killed Tanya there. The gun had accidentally fallen out of his hand. There was a commotion due to Nishta’s murder on the 9th floor. During this time, Shimona had stealithily gone down and picked up the gun and hidden it. ACP says that they would get phaansi for this.
