The very talented Telly town actress Jayashree Venketeramanan who is currently seen doing amazingly well as Navika Colors popular show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 2 gets in a frank conversation with us and shares her monsoon experience and love for the monsoon season…

Monsoon for me means:
Since I’m packed due to my shoot schedules, monsoon for me means long hours of wait when I get stuck in the traffic jam.

My first thought about monsoon:
The very first thought that pops up when I think about monsoon is the sweet smell of the earth, garam-garam pakode and chai.

My most memorable monsoon moment:
Few years back, in Delhi, when I was getting trained at Ashley Lobo’s Dance Institute, our class shifted to the ground floor. At the same time, it started raining heavily and we all danced in the rain with Ashley sir. In fact, we performed the same choreographed dance in one of the competition and won it. So that is my most memorable monsoon moment so far.

My childhood monsoon memories:
I feel after all the sweltering heat of the summer, rains are God’s gift. All I remember about my childhood monsoon is that I used to wait eagerly for the first downpour of rain. Even though I was forbidden from getting wet, I used to never listen to my Mom’s instructions and run away and dance in the rains.

My monsoon music:
I enjoy listening to soft romantic music during the soothing monsoon. Other than that, monsoon reminds me of the song Chak Chak Dhoom Dhoom from the movie Dil Toh Pagal Hai.

Precautions I take during monsoon:
When it comes to cosmetics, personally I don’t enjoy applying any kind of make-up and I like to keep it natural. At the most I apply a kajal, but due to monsoon, I don’t even apply my regular kajal. I make sure I don’t eat anything unhealthy and unhygienic from outside. Even during my daily shoots, I cook for myself and carry the food along. It’s better to take precautions than getting stressed for a cure later.

My monsoon shopping:
Recently, I’ve got myself a long pointed umbrella. Actually I was hunting for a red polka dot umbrella. On failing to get one, I picked up a maroon colored stripped umbrella. I’ve also purchased a pair of trendy plastic slippers. Monsoon is a time when neon colors come roaring back into fashion. Following the same trend, I have also bought some bright colored clothes for myself.

Places I would like to visit during monsoon:
If you wish to make the most of the heavenly monsoon season in Mumbai, without clocking away too many miles, then I think it’s always a good idea to go for a drive to Bandstand. The peace that you acquire sitting all alone at the sea-shore is just priceless.

My monsoon mantra:
Don’t crib and just enjoy the fun of monsoons!
