Bala tells Bhima that he wants Sandesh to take Rani with him. I will take care of her for life if that does not happen. No one, neither Aayi Baba nor you will stop me.

A lady comes to the police station and cries. Constable asks her what happened. She says what a mother will do when her kids are hungry. My husband is in jail! Her husband tells her to give them food. Police captain says I tried to talk sense to them but she wont listen. Rani’s father tells him not to misguide them. There is nothing above dharma. He also reprimands the lady for crying. Kids are raised even when they become orphans. She says my husband isn’t dead yet. Now I feel as if my kids will die because of that Maharaj. Her husband tells her not to say all this. My kids don’t die! Police captain asks him what he will do from inside. Another tells him to be quiet. Maharaj is everything for us. The guy breaks down. I have been hungry many times but my kids have never been hungry! He cries. Mangesh is standing by the window and has seen everything. The lady decides to question Maharaj.

Bhimbai wants Rani to leave with Sandesh at any cost. These people will come here to challenge us every day as they wont be able to see someone from their community staying with us. Ram ji says especially a woman. Society puts the weight of duties and responsibilities on women all the time. I thought Bala was our most careless son but I realised he has become responsible when he brought Rani home. Jyoti Ba Phule used to tell me that how a man treats a woman speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. She says I understand what you are saying. I am very proud of my son as a woman but this is not the solution. Sandesh and Rani should leave from there. that’s the only solution. Bhima denies. There is another solution. Rani Didi will stay in this house only if that wont happen. Bala Bhaiya will take care of her, without any relation, for the sake of humanity. I have assured him that we wont stop him from doing that. Bhimbai shouts at him. have you two lost your mind? There is no unnamed relationship between a woman and a man. It is no less than a cuss word! Rani looks out of the window. Bhima says someone must step forward and show the society that things can change. We must support Bhaiya if this is what he wants. He goes inside. Bhimbai tells her husband Bhima is not able to understand what he is asking for. Ram ji tells her to hope that such a situation will never arise.

The lady comes to meet Maharaj. She complains to him that her husband is in jail because of him today. My kids are hungry. My MIL is questioning me about his whereabouts. It’s all because of you! He calls it the need for dharma. There is no harm in sacrificing life for dharma. Take food from ashram. Tell your MIL that her son is doing a very good deed and he will be blessed for it. She refuses to accept the blessing or food. We only want our old life back. She leaves. Mangesh enter just then. He tells Maharaj what happened at the police station. Everyone except Rani’s father is crying in the jail since she has come back.

Villagers are missing their family in the jail and are crying.

Maharaj says we must silence everyone so they wont cry or say anything. People who cry fall weak often.

Bhima comes to meet Sandesh. Sandesh says I cannot understand anything. I will leave in the morning anyways. Let me go please. Bhima seeks his permission to come inside. I might be able to help you. Sandesh nods. Bhima marks a line on the floor. There is love and faith on one side and hate and jealousy on the other. Sit on one side and think of your love for Rani Didi. Think why you loved her and what will happen if she wont be with you? When you sit on the other side, try to find out why you hate her. you might find your answer. Ram ji seconds him. one must take one step at a time when things become too complicated. He leaves with Bhima.

Rani’s mother brings Prasad for everyone in the jail. Police captain is against it but she requests him. Maharaj did a puja for them. Her husband says he cares for us. Give us Prasad. Everyone joins in except the guy whose wife had come earlier. Police captain calls them fools and allows her to give Prasad to everyone. Villagers feed Prasad forcibly to the other guy.

Sandesh starts pacing in the hut. Are these people of lower community smarter than me? Why should I listen to them? Are they more patient than us? I wont listen to them! They wont let me go without a reason in the morning though. He sits down on one side and thinks of all his hatred and anger towards Rani as he closes his eyes.

Villagers start feeling hot and start coughing. Police captain asks the constable to bring water for them. He asks the other constable to open the cell. One guy falls down as soon as he reaches for the glass. They realise that there was something mixed in the Prasad. Let’s take them to hospital. We will be in trouble if they die here.

Maharaj tells Dhansukhlal and Mangesh that the Prasad that Rani’s mother took to the jail contained poison. Go and kill her now. There wont be anyone left now who can tell who had sent her. Court wont just buy what police captain will say. Spread the word in town tomorrow that something was mixed in the food given in the cell because of which they died. People and administration wont spare them then.

Meera asks everyone to sleep now. They are busy making something. Bhimbai asks them if they could not do it in the morning. Everyone gives her logics but she scolds them. Bhima makes her sit down. Watch what we are doing. Bhimbai and Meera agree. Rani looks for a second but then closes the door from inside. You (Bhima) and your family have been through a lot because of me but I will free everyone from this problem after my death!
