Every woman needs to take care of her husband like her own child – Sangeeta Ghosh

The talented and beautiful Sangeeta Ghosh, who is impressing one and all with her performance as Saanchi in Sony Entertainment Television’s older woman-younger man love story Kehta Hai Dil…Jee Le Zara, does not feel that this changing equation between the sexes is a big deal anymore.

Says the actress, “Age does not really matter anymore. It is all about compatibility. Wherever we have been for city tours, we have seen a general acceptance coming from people. But maybe this new flexibility has happened only in urban areas, while the smaller towns and villages may still not be a good place to be in.”

“Personally speaking, I feel that irrespective of whether a man is younger or older to his wife the woman is always more mature. She needs to take care of her husband as her own child. Similar is my condition in real life too. Though we are of the same age, I have to pamper Shailendra (husband Shailendra Singh Rathod.) Like a kid I take care of his tantrums and mood swings,” she quips.

Sangeeta who got married late says, “One of the reasons why the same is now generally happening in society is because nowadays women regard themselves as equal entities to their husbands. Gone are the days when it was just the man’s job to bring in the bread. So maybe they marry late as once you get married, the woman’s career does tend to take a back seat to some extent. Today women are independent enough to date other men, but prefer to wait till they find the right companion.”

But does not marrying late lead to complications in child birth due to a ticking body clock? “Yes, but there are solutions to everything. Marriage does not necessarily have to translate into a family as before. In my case, I would love to start a family but it is not possible as I am busy right now. Family is important, but again there are options to it as well. And luckily for me, my husband is also on the same page,” she categorically states.

Sangeeta, nice thoughts on the ‘women’ of today!!!
