For me, getting the offer to play Kinjal was my first step towards success: Firoza Khan

Model turned actress Firoza Khan aka Kinjal of Saath Nibhana Saathiya on Star Plus is here to stay.

Since her early days, Firoza was attracted towards acting and was less interested to pursue her education. The beautiful actress, who somehow completed her 10th boards, started doing print ads when she was in the 11th standard and also auditioned for Vishesh Films’ Murder. But, to her ill luck, Mukesh Bhatt was not very convinced because she was too young for the role. Even Firoza got wary of essaying the role when she heard the script and felt that she was too young to handle such a mature role.

Finding nothing worthwhile coming her way, Firoza started working in a call center to earn her living.

Side-by-side, she struggled a lot in the acting field too. “You won’t imagine that for around six years, I struggled to establish myself in this industry,” she quips. Initially, she used to get calls from Balaji Telefilms to appear for some cameo roles, but when she got there, Firoza found herself lost in the crowd. Disgusted, the actress opted out of being just a junior artiste.

After struggling a lot, she was approached by Rashmi Sharma Productions for Kinjal’s role. “For me, Kinjal’s offer was like my first step towards success. The whole crew of Saath Nibhana Saathiya was very welcoming and pleasing in nature. Everybody was very helpful and I’ve never felt that I was away from the house, because after three years, we have become like a family,” Firoza admits.

Talking of the appreciation she has been receiving for her role, Firoza avers, “When people appreciate Kinjal, I don’t really understand the fact that her character was so difficult to understand. Though I personally don’t like being Kinjal, I feel blessed that I am working with one of the finest teams in television.”

Wish you more success…Firoza!!!
