Gautam Rode says, popularity will play a big part in the eliminations of Nach Baliye 5…

It’s full on ‘masti’ for Gautam Rode, the anchor of Star Plus’ Nach Baliye 5 as he gets an opportunity to be himself and also taste the best of acting as well as anchoring.

Talking about it, Rode says, “It is nice to be a part of the reality world; I am happy with my anchor’s role and would not want to be a participant on the stage of Nach Baliye. The best part of being in a reality show is that one can be the person you are, and need not enact a particular character.”

On the huge opening ratings of 4.1 that Nach Baliye has got, Gautam states, “It’s a huge opening considering the competition that prevailed on other channels. Huge drama was happening in the Bigg Boss house and we also had the SurKshetra finale. Of course, the layman wanted to watch the premiere of the popular movie English Vinglish over that weekend, and the New Year buzz was also around. We have got fantastic numbers and hope the show continues to rock.”

Ask him about the Jodi that will rock Nach Baliye, and he states, “Well, it is too early to comment on this. We have just seen one performance from all the Jodis. All of them are working really hard and we have to understand that nobody in the list is a dancer. All of them are learning the art of dance. Popularity will play a big part when the eliminations start and the audience votes will come in accordingly.”

So how is Gautam Rode gearing up for the eliminations? “That’s a very difficult thing for an anchor, and it is even tougher for me as all of the participants are friends. Everyone is working really hard, and I have seen them giving their 100%. They have been dabbling very well between their rehearsals for Nach Baliye, their shoot schedule for other assignments and of course for the performance shoot in Nach. Honestly, we actors are lucky to have got the right mix of the reality as well as fiction world.”

Ask him about his fiction show on Star Plus, Saraswatichandra and he tells us, “As of now, I am concentrating on Nach Baliye. However, we will be beginning the regular shoot for Saraswatichandra in a few days time. I will have to travel a lot as we have a schedule at Rajkot for Saraswatichandra.”
