I like light-hearted comedy shows that make you smile: Shaheer Sheikh

After a hard day’s work, which channel do you usually watch?
When I come back home and laze in front of the TV, my fingers automatically press the buttons of the remote to switch the channel either to Comedy Central or Star World. Sometimes, I also enjoy watching movies on TV but it depends on my mood and the movie which is on air (smiles).

Fiction shows that you are watching currently on TV?
I really loved The Modern Family (ABC) and followed it religiously. I also like The Big Bang Theory (Star World) and Entourage (HBO). The first show that I am talking about is a perfect one that presents how a family can live together happily. And every episode has a meaningful message to it; this adds value to the beauty of the show. I am also enjoying Comedy Nights with Kapil (Colors) these days; I really feel Kapil is awesome.

Reality shows that catch your attention?
I do not think any of the shows are real (laughs). But since my sister watches Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa (Colors), I do watch the show sometimes. And to be honest, I am really impressed with the kind of dance the celebs are coming out with. They look so professional; hats off to all of them.

Any personality you like on TV?
I really like Sheldon Cooper’s character played by Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory. I actually relate to his geeky nature although all the characters on the show have great personalities.

Any foreign shows you feel that can be made in India?
I feel The Modern Family will be the best choice. Shows that are light hearted comedy, something that relaxes you and can make you smile will always get thumbs up from me.

Given a chance, which TV series will you like to be a part of?
I would like to be part of The Big Bang Theory and The Entourage; it would be really fun. Also sometime back I had a word with Vikas (Gupta) for The Serial (Channel [V]), but since I was committed to something else then, things didn’t work out. I would really like to do the show if offered again.
