Karan Wahi, best known as the chocolate boy of the TV industry, has managed to gain a huge fan following through some of his TV hits – Dill Mill Gayye, Remix, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and more. However, of late, he has been enjoying his stint as an anchor on various reality shows. After being the super cool host on Nach Baliye and Indian Idol Junior, Wahi has now spread his wings and will be seen anchoring Zee TV’s dance reality show DID Supermoms.

I am a big fan of Govinda

I can’t tell you how big a fan I am of Govinda. The first Bollywood on-screen couple that I adored was Govinda and Shilpa Shetty. I have never met him before but I have grown watching his acting and dance moves. In fact it’s a proud moment for my parents as they feel great to see me with such Bollywood superstars. It’s great to have him in the show.

I have a major stage fright

I always thought I could not perform in front of thousand people, but now I have become a ‘besharam’. I don’t feel bad when people make fun of me in shows, because if that fun is giving everyone a good laugh then my job is done.

Gone are the days when an anchor’s job was to just announce a contestant’s name

These days viewers want to know more about contestants and judges. Gone are the days when an anchor’s job was to merely announce a contestant’s name and declare winners. Now the anchor is the mediator between participants, judges and audience. An anchor has to be an extrovert, funny and on-the-face. In this show people will see the old Wahi as I think anchoring doesn’t change, only the show and content changes.

I really like Manish Paul as a host and I have learned a lot from him. I steal lot of his jokes which don’t go air or get edited out. There were so many punch lines in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa that didn’t go on air and I told Manish that those lines belong to me now.

These kind of shows require lot of homework

On-screen they show that I am a having a gala time, flirting around but to put up a great show I need to know the contestants personally. There are many mothers who are very shy, while others are bindaas. They mostly interact with me, and my task is to make them feel comfortable. Hence lot of homework is required for these kind of reality shows.

I haven’t got a call from Nach Baliye to host it

This Year I haven’t got a call from Nach Baliye and I have no idea who is producing it and when is it going on air. Talking about Indian Idol Junior, my dates were clashing with my other projects hence I couldn’t take it up.

Makers are not approaching me for daily soaps

This question is always asked as to when I will do a daily soap. To do a daily drama I need to be offered an option first. I don’t know why makers are not approaching me for daily shows. I can’t knock the door and say bhai daily soap karwa do…

I will announce about that special girl one hour before my marriage

I am very much single and haven’t found my lady love yet. But yes when I will manage to find her, I will announce it one hour before my marriage.
