Laajo is an out-of-the-box character, hence I chose Gustakh Dil over Ek Boond Ishq – Sana Amin Sheik

Sana Amin Sheikh who is one of the most popular actors on television today started her career as a radio jockey during her college days and later went on to gain popularity through her show Khubsoorat.

However, she later found her passion for acting. Sana took to RJing in 2004, when she was a student in her second year degree and interviewed various actors on their journey to success.

Said Sana, “Well, I received lot of support from my seniors at Radio Mirchi and therefore I was comfortable in balancing between my work and studies. I had never thought I would pursue acting. However, Director Waseem Sabir, who had come to shoot a sequence for Zee TV’s Saat Phere to the Radio Mirchi office recognised my talent and gave me a push towards the stream of acting.”

“I took up acting but eventually found it boring to shoot for long hours as the stories did not shape up well. Hence I quit the show. I also made my foray into Bollywood. While all this was happening, I made sure that I never left RJing as it was and will always be my primary passion,” she added.

Now that the pretty lass has taken up acting, she talks about how she wants to see herself doing more of youth and comedy shows like the ones she has done earlier such as Gumrah on Channel V and Kya Mast Hai Life on Disney Channel India.

“I would love to do a comedy or a youth show. However, coming to drama, I was offered two shows on Life OK, Ek Boond Ishq and Gustakh Dil. Laajo is an out-of-the-box character and so I chose Gustakh Dil over Ek Boond Ishq. I am happy to have taken it up as the show is shaping up very well. “

So the flamboyant lady is an RJ and an actor. But what if these professions did not favour her career?
Sana quipped, “Well, then I would have either been a teacher or a journalist. Or for that matter I would make for a very good singer in the industry by participating in a reality show.”
