Mitali Nag all set to feature in Life OK’s Savdhan India

Mitali Nag wowed everyone with her spirited performance in Zee TV’s Afsar Bitiya (Village Boy Productions).

The show went off air and since then her fans have been missing her dearly. But we brings some good news for all of them.

Yes, she is all set to be a part of an episodic in Life OK’s Savdhan India (sequence produced by Endemol). Once again she plays a girl from a downtrodden family who fights against all odds in her endeavour to become an IAS officer. Her character is that of a girl who is married off as a minor into an abusive family. Her husband beats her and her mother-in-law also joins in to torture her.

Amidst such a nightmarish marriage she studies in night schools in an attempt to attain her career goals. However, even when she clears her IAS exam, she isn’t entitled to that position as she is accused of ‘setting a bad example to the society as she was in an illegal child marriage’. The real lady whom Mitali is enacting has filed a case against this decision as she was after all a victim of child marriage, so why should she be wrongly punished?

We contacted Mitali who said, “In Afsar Bitiya Krishna still had a supportive father and husband. The lady who I play on Savdhan India had a far harder time as she had no support system whatsoever. Nevertheless she was so self-motivated.”

Let us hope that the courageous lady who Mitali has played becomes an IAS officer soon. Stern action should be taken against those who debarred her against becoming one on unfair and flimsy grounds.
