Nadaan Parinde to go off air on 5 September; Rajshri Productions’ Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali to replace

Scaling Heights Productions’ Nadaan Parinde on Life OK was an interesting show, considering the fact that the story was set up amidst the backdrop of army, with its shooting taking place in the realistic locales of Chandigarh. However, the interesting drama and storytelling did not create considerable curiosity amongst viewers, resulting in low TRP. The show has Karam Rajpal, Nikkhil Chaddha and Gulki Joshi in lead roles.

Now, the news coming in is that the channel has decided to pull the plug off the show. Yes, Nadaan Parinde will be airing its last episode on 5 September (2014), and will be replaced by Rajshri Productions’ family drama, Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali.

A source states, “A lot of factors played a part in the closure of Nadaan Parinde. The lack of ratings has to be the main reason. However, the unit has been experiencing some torrid times in Chandigarh with the extremes of weather conditions playing spoilsport.”

When contacted, Producer Imtiaz Punjabi told us, “Yes, it is true that Nadaan Parinde is going off air on 5 September. It was an amicable decision taken by the channel and us. We had certain issues with the heat and rain hampering our schedules in Chandigarh. Also, the after-effects of rain did cause lot of skin problems to many of our unit and crew members. Considering all the hazards the unit was facing, the channel has decided to end the show. However, we will be working on something new for the channel.”

Co-Producer Chokkas Bhaardwaj also voiced the same opinion stating, “Yes, TRP decides the future of any show. And with Nadaan Parinde falling short of numbers, the channel has decided to end it. Every show that starts has to end. Also, we were facing few major difficulties in carrying forward the shoot at Chandigarh.”

We sent a text message to Ajit Thakur, General Manager, Life OK but did not get any revert.

Mere Rang Mein Rangne Wali, produced by Rajshri Productions will launch on Life OK from 8 September, replacing Nadaan Parinde. The show has Samridh Bawa, Pranali Ghoghare, Mahesh Thakur, Dolly Sohi, Vishnu Bholwani, Harsh Vashisht as the prime cast.
