Pavitra Rishta actors ‘too busy’ to attend Zee TV’s Daawat-E-Eid celebration

The entire Zee TV family was on a celebratory mode yesterday with the Daawat-E-Ishq stars Parineeti Chopra, Aditya Roy Kapur and Anupam Kher rejoicing with Zee TV show actors for the channel’s Eid extravaganza Daawat-E-Eid. But what caught our attention was the absence of cast members of Pavitra Rishta (Balaji Telefilms) from the event.

We wondered and pondered on the reason of absence of the stars from the channel’s one of the most popular and long running shows.

Qubool Hai was the epicenter of the activity and on probing a bit, we realised that there’s no element of animosity or differences between the channel and the production house creatives, but the reason of nonattendance was something else.

Well, the lead pair of the show Ankita Lokhande and Karan Mehra received an invite from the channel to attend the event. In fact, they were also supposed to perform for Daawat-E-Eid but they backed out a couple of days before the shoot.

What was the reason?

Their busy shooting schedule. The actors found it difficult to take time off from their busy Pavitra Rishta timetable and hence could not join the channel’s Eid fun fare.

When contacted Karan he said, “Yes, I did receive an invite from Zee and I was to perform but things changed at the last minute. I couldn’t find the time out of my shooting schedule.”

We dropped a text message to Ankita but she remained unavailable for comment.

Zee TV spokesperson remained clueless about this development.

We are sure all the Pavitra Rishta fans will miss their favourite stars on Daawat-E-Eid.

    Oh dear….

    That’s ok….From my side they won’t be missed….

Sad for them though, other shows will be well represented but PR will not be….

This show should seriously be going off air….Five years is indeed a long time to have the same monotonous serial on air – taking up space when we should actually be viewing something so much better, maybe a nice comedy to balance all the drama we get from the shows….
