Scene 1

Kaurwaki recalls insulting Devi in front of everyone and says I let Ashok touch me because I was so angry at Devi, she must be so hurt, what should I do now? I will make everything fine with Devi.

Pawan tells Ashok that for the first time, you looked happy, she is your real happiness. Kaurwaki comes there and glares at him. Pawan leaves. Ashok is drunk so Kaurwaki tells him to stay away from her, he asks what did he do now? Kaurwaki says you destroyed my life, caged me here. Ashok says enough.. I am worried about my father so leave me alone. Kaurwaki says since you entered this palace, his condition has worsened. You hurt people around you, you are so evil that your presence takes away happiness from people around you. You destroyed Dharma’s life, my life and now you are destroying your wife Devi’s life, she loves you so much but you are not able to give her the love and respect that she deserves. Ashok shouts who are you to tell me what I should do with my relationships? Kaurwaki says I am Devi’s protector, she tried so much but you didn’t care at all. Ashok says wow.. you hurt Devi today, you knew she couldn’t stitch the dress but you put her in the spot, you have hurt her. You closely danced with me so what about that? Kaurwaki says I made a mistake. Ashok says you are wrong and blaming me, don’t throw your sins at me, he angrily leaves. Kaurwaki cries and says I have hurt Devi.

Kaurwaki comes to Devi and says I am sorry for all that, I put you on the spot and insulted you in front of everyone because of a misunderstanding, I thought you threw my brother Mudit in the snake pit. Devi says what? Kaurwaki says yes but later on I found out that we were fooled to think you were the culprit. You have to trust me, someone fooled me. Someone wants to break our friendship, someone fooled us both, someone wants us to fight. You know I would never try to insult you. I know someone is trying to break our bond, please trust me. Devi says enough.. lets forget everything. Kaurwaki says how can you forgive me? Devi says we are childhood friends and I can understand that you must have done this because of a misunderstanding so its fine. Kaurwaki is surprised and hugs her, she says I can’t believe you have such a big heart. I wouldn’t be able to forgive you if I was in your place but you are such a nice person. Devi hugs her and thinks she is not going to spare her now.

Scene 2

Dayana tells Helena that something is wrong with Bindusar. Sushim comes there and says Bindusar’s is going to be mentally unstable soon, so even if he chooses me as a king, the society won’t accept it. Helena says if the king is unfit to choose the next kin then the ministers have the right to choose the next king. Dayana says that Ashok won’t let Sushim become the king so easily. Sushim says you are right that’s why I have prepared for the voting tomorrow. All ministers are going to vote for me. We are going to buy all the ministers with our wealth so they are going to choose me over Ashok.

Devi comes to Vimla with gifts and says you can have all these but you have to tell me some info. She asks if Sushim is making any plans as Bindusar is not well? Vimla says Helena won’t spare me if I tell you. Devi says then I can’t gift you these necklaces. Vimla stops her and says Sushim is going to get the ministers to vote in his favors by buying them all. Devi thanks her and thinks I will win Ashok’s heart now, I will break Kaurwaki apart.

Pawan is drunk and passes by Kaurwaki, he thanks her for taking care of everyone. He says Ashok has crossed all limits but I can’t tell you what he has done. Kaurwaki asks what is he doing? Pawan says Ashok is trying to buy the ministers to vote for him as the next king. He is bribing them. Kaurwaki is shocked.

Devi tells Ashok that Sushim is going to buy the ministers, he is arranging funds for that, you have to do something to get the ministers to vote for you. Ashok asks how? She shows him boxes filled with gold coins and says my father sent it for you, you can buy the ministers in double the rate from Sushim. You are going to get the throne as I promised you that. Ashok says you are so loyal. Devi says I can die for you. Kaurwaki hides and says I can’t believe this, he is using Devi for his own agendas but I won’t let him succeed.
