UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
The noise made by the boys as they try to pry open the lock alerts the watchmen. Moments later, the security guards come to investigate the issue. Realizing they were in trouble; the two groups both inside the library and outside, instantaneously scamper away to hide in different spots.
A short while later, Guddu makes a call to his ‘bhaiyyaji’ from their hiding spot and lets him know that since the security had been alerted, it would be ideal to not try anything else for now. ‘We’ll arrange something else come morning’ he advices.

Cutting the call, Indu throws away his mobile phone in frustration – all along muttering about how they’d get into grave trouble if the police ended up arriving at the library in the morning.

A short while later in the dark…
Mehek and Sanchi are sitting on the chairs – morose and glum. Indu is leaning against a pillar pensively. Interrupting the silence amidst them, Mehek wonders aloud – mulling how she and her family’d be defamed once they were caught out.
Manwa tries to cheer her up and starts singing ‘Hum tum ek library mein band ho’ in order to uplift the atmosphere. However, this only infuriates Mehek more and she starts yelling out loudly about how dire their situation was!

Sanchi rushes to her friend to console her and a few seconds later Indu joins her too. His hands in his pockets, he counsels the sobbing girl – his manner very gentle ‘Mehek ji..don’t worry…nothing wrong shall happen… you trust God don’t you… look.. we’ve done nothing wrong to anyone.. and our intentions are not wrong… then, why should we be punished… you trust your ‘deity’ right…so that’s all that’s needed..with time this misfortune will also disappear!’
(A new sad RJN tune plays in the background – I haven’t heard it before, but its quite touching)
Saying so, he then walks back to the pillar and turns away.

Looking up at the silent young man who’d just encouraged her friend, Sanchi leaves her friend behind and walks up to Indu. She confesses in a soft tone ‘I thought so wrong of you Indu Singh…but you’ve erased any doubts I had about you…’ she pauses ‘Thanks…the way you’ve helped me…I realize the importance of your friendship…for everything you’ve done for me…thanks a lot!’
He’d been silent all along, but her last words finally do manage to bring a faint smile to his lips. Turning around to face her, he acknowledges her heartfelt gratitude ‘Good to hear it from you…Sanchi ji…’ he indicates to his forehead ‘As far as the matter of being together comes…well…as long as my fate favours me…I’ll be there with you’
They exchange a few mild smiles.

Next morning…
Sanchi realizes that it was time for the library to open. Just then, the police vehicles arrive at the university, the sirens alerting the members entrapped in the library.
Approaching the librarian, the inspector explains the issue and instructs her to open the library. Following her bidding, she opens the large room and hands over the register to the inspector. In the meanwhile; Indu, Sanchi, Mehek and Manwa manage to stay hidden behind a tall shelf of books at a far end of the room – away from the prying eyes of the inspector who was busy browsing through the register.

A few seconds later, the hidden group can overhear the inspector complain about how ‘Page 7’ of the register was missing.

Just then, Indu’s mobile phone starts vibrating. He silently switches it on. It was none other than Guddu at the other end – requesting Indu not to worry as they’d entered the campus and would take care of the police intrusion thereafter.

No sooner than Guddu completes his conversation, a mob of angry young students (led by Indu’s gang themselves) barge into the library and hurl protests against the police force for raising a commotion in their university grounds. The police inspector is thoroughly overwhelmed and become engrossed in trying to sort out the issue by answering their questions. When he informs the crowd about the murder of the girl and that she belonged to Goswami University, then tension on the faces of all of Indu’s fellow-men are evident.

Coming out of their shaken state, Yogi, Guddu and Rajjo once again try and create a ruckus by hurling the officer many queries about the investigation. Indu peeps out of their secluded spot and studies the situation – the police officers seemed thoroughly engulfed by the masses of students around them. Taking the cue, Indu signals to his group and they start sliding out from behind the book-shelves to slip through and out of the crowd. However, just as they’d nearly finished swimming through the crowd towards the entrance, a student spots Indu and mutters loudly ‘Oh Indu bhaiyya…’
While Mehek and Sanchi squirm in worry, the boy continues to ask Indu ‘Why are you leaving the library now?’

Crafty at twisting the situation in his favour, Indu instantly changes his demeanour. Putting on a light smile, he walks through the crowd and towards the police officers ‘Who said I’m leaving..namaste Balram Saheb… I was coming to find out what the commotion was all about’
Sanchi and Mehek follow the lead and continue with the act too.

His supicion not roused, Balram explains to Indu what the situation was on about and then requests the students to allow them to carry on with their investigation ‘Please all of you leave now..clear the place’
This was all that the group needed to hear. Indu’s groups waste no time in leaving the premises along with the rest of the crowd.

However, before exiting Indu manages to overhear Balram’s discussions with his fellow officers – Not surprisingly, they were exchanging their viewpoints on Rubina’s murder enquiry ‘The torn page from the register indicates that the group of boys/girls who’d been with Rubina want to keep their involvement with her a secret…we should make a thorough check of the college and of the lodge and try and locate the murder weapon as soon as possible’

CORRIDORS
Sanchi thanks Guddu for their help, who in turn tells her that he’d do anything for Indu or for her! (Awww so cute!)

A tensed Indu joins the group soon after. While the boys question their leader about what was going on, Indu replies that he’d update them when the time was right. Instructing the boys to be at the den and await further instructions, he then turns his attention the other three.
Once the boys leave, Indu then informs them that the police officers were planning to survey the lodge to hunt for the murder weapon. He reminds them that Sanchi’d removed the weapon from Rubina’s person and if found, the weapon would now contain her finger prints on it!

LODGE
Sanchi receives a few calls from her worried mother, who was angrily enquiring about her prolonged absence from home. After lying to her mother about her whereabouts, the anguished Sanchi decides to switch off her phone – it seemed much easier that way!

The group then get engrossed in making a detailed search of the perimeters of the lodge for the weapon. However, it was nowhere to be found and Sanchi couldn’t seem to recollect where precisely she’d hurled the knife away on the night. Indu then decides to zero-in from the spot that Rubina’s body had originally fallen upon. They then start back-tracking the events of the night. This helps Sanchi recall her actions during the fateful incidents. Making a few brief glimpses in the right direction, Sanchi finally manages to spot the weapon dangling off a few shrubs. Relieved, she’s about to reach out to it when two police officers arrive at the scene. Indu pulls Sanchi away and they couples are forced to retreat into hiding spots. Nervous; the pairs watch on silently as the two police officers carry out searches inside and outside the lodging.
Just as the unsuccessful police officers are about to walk to their vehicle to head back to the station, one of the men manages to spot the reflection of the knife through the thickery. Reaching out to the glistening piece of metal, he pulls it out with a handkerchief and hands it to his partner. They decide to hand it over for a fingerprint analysis.
Sanchi and Indu are unable to do anything but watch the entire thing in exasperation!

MATHURS’
Two girls come to the Mathur household to return Sanchi’s notes. Its from their casual mention that Veena realizes that Sanchi had not been attending college for the past 3-4 days. Veena is shocked that Sanchi had been lying to her.

Precap
Radha manages to get hold of an envelope addressed to Tiwari. It was the ransom letter they’d posted blackmailing him about Rubina! Sanchi gets immensely tensed and informs Indu about it.
