SAB TV’s FIR might undergo scheduling change soon

SAB TV’s long running comedy show FIR might soon go through yet another scheduling change.

This Kavita Kaushik led cop drama, that currently beams as a daily, might be turned into a one hour weekly sometime early next year.

Says producer Benaifer Kohli ( Edit 2) , “Though discussions are going on with the channel regarding the same, but no final decision has been taken whether it will actually happen and when. Even prior to this, our scheduling was changed from a weekly to a bi-weekly to the present Monday to Friday 10 pm slot.

The most important thing to be noted here is that we have never gone in for a seasonal break like Gutur Gu. Our show continues to rock as was evident when it won the best comedy show award at a recent award function.”

We further ask her if one of the reasons for this shift can be the lack of dates on part of Kavita who will also be shooting for Tota aur Maina for the same channel and she said, “she anyway does not shoot more than twelve to fifteen days with me. Furthermore, our contract clearly states that she has to be with us irrespective of whether it is daily or weekly and my dates have not changed.”

Kavita also went on to add that she has also heard about the rescheduling, but refused to give reasons on why this is being done. “ You better ask the channel,” she quips.

Conventional logic says that channel honchos shift a show when they are not satisfied with its ratings. So, a final decision should ideally be taken after the fresh ratings come in on 19 December.
