Smriti Khanna quits Colors’ Balika Vadhu

Colors’ prominent social drama, Balika Vadhu (Sphereorigins), has been one of the path breaking series on Indian television.

Recently, the show started its second season with a fresh storyline and new cast including, Mahhi Vij, Avinash Sachdev, Ruslaan Mumtaz and Smriti Khanna in the prominent roles.

Unfortunately, it seems that things are not going quite well for the makers of the daily soap.

Few days ago, we reported about Avinash Sachdev, being unhappy with the way his character has been shaping up and has asked the makers to wrap up his track.

Now, we have learnt that another actor has decided to move out of the project. Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi fame actor Smriti Khanna, who essayed the character of Vandana, has quit Balika Vadhu.

Reason, you ask?

A source shares, “Initially when she signed the project, she was not been informed about the change in the time slot. Later on, with the plot focusing on Mahhi and Ruslaan’s conjugal life, Smriti hardly had anything to do in the show. Naturally, she wanted to back out of the project and try her hands in something else.”

Armed with the info when we buzzed Smriti, the lady shared, “When I discussed the issue with the makers, they agreed with me, hence it was a mutual decision. I will be shooting for a couple of days to wrap up my track.”

We completely understand that lady. We wish you all the success with your future endeavours.
