Star Plus’ Saraswatichandra to go off air on 18 October?

The axe-date is out, as per sources.

Yes, the talk of Saraswatichandra (Sphereorigins) going off air has been on for quite some time. And now we have got exclusive information that this Star Plus serial will finally breathe its last on 18 October.

The last couple of months must have been difficult for the creatives as they worked real hard to up the numbers, but all efforts proved futile.

Saraswatichandra, the ambitious project of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, started off with great expectations. But with him not being able to handle the proceedings, the reins were later handed to Sphereorigins. The show boasts of popular and talented Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget in lead roles.

The adaptation of Gujarati novel of the same name, the show started off really well but with recent dip in TRPs and changing storylines, channel brought out its whip and now the axe.

And then came the news of Gautam quitting the show and names like Karan Singh Grover, Vivian Dsena were tossed up as his replacement. But when nothing worked, Gautam decided to stick around and shoot for some extended time.

The track currently is focusing on Gautam getting his mother, Saraswati back in his life and deciding on taking revenge from his step mom Guman (Monica Bedi).

Now sources inform that this is the last and the final twist in the show. With Saras and Kumud bringing Saraswati (Maleeka R Ghai) to justice, the show will soon wrap up. And as a culminating treat, a mega garba raas has been planned where the family will be celebrating together.

The channel is yet to decide on which new show will come in as replacement.

We tried reaching Gautam and Jennifer but they remained unavailable to comment.

Producer Sunjoy Wadhwa did not revert to our calls and messages.

A channel spokesperson too did not respond to our ‘off air’ query.

    I don’t watch this show for storyline but for the sizzling and gorgeous couple SARAS and KUMUD……….plz….dont go off air SC plz…..

    yes,instead of make worse,they end the show.any how when they start and we all family members say this is no gone for too long ,because they had wrong negative actor[monica bedi]it’s INDIA when people learn who is she,they never like it.doesn’t matter how good she act or look.and we all are right.they had always TRP issue.because of monica.if some one else sure good to go for 2-3 years.

    Kajol – Sharuk khan were the most romantic couple on-screen in Bollywood. Neither the film industry nor the audience have seen a pair like them afterwards. Similarly I feel that Saras Kumud were the best jodi in TV so far.

    Hope to see them soon in some other serial with a good director and script writer who can bring out the best performance from both.

    Good decision. They don’t know how to write good story. Felt sorry for the lead pair. They were talents were not utilized fully.

    Anyways feels a bit said to think ” no more samud “

    Good. High time they end the show than showing the hopeless drama that’s going on.
