There is a lot more to be explored on the small screen – Aamir Dalvi

Talented actor Aamir Dalvi who is currently playing a tapori cop in Life OK’s cop show Hum Ne Li Hai Shapath (Fireworks Productions) recently wished to make a big screen splash with Dilli Gang. Unfortunately for him the film did not do well at the box office.

Giving the reason for the film’s failure Aamir says, “The producer (Ashish Tyagi) was also the director, and had too much on his plate. There was very little promotion; hence no one knew we were around. To make matters worse there was a lot of confusion about the release date as well. Despite all this, our off beat story (senior citizens murders) did manage to run for around two weeks in the theatres and whoever saw the film appreciated my work.”

When we pointed to the fact that too many small films get released on the same day to avoid a clash with a biggie he states, “This is bound to happen, for if we hit the theatres along with a major film, audience simply will not troop into our halls as they will prefer to stick with the tried and tested.”
Aamir who has always dreamt of a film career accepts that he is disappointed. “We, the actors on the film (co-stars Darshan Jariwala, Neena Kulkarni, Yashpal Sharma and Asrani) put in so much of hard work and had come up with a decent product.”

Looking ahead Aamir is open to more films. “But that does not mean that I will give up on TV. There is a lot more to be explored on the small screen as well. For me both the mediums are equally important.”
Aamir has done versatile roles in TV shows Jyoti, Sanskaar Laxmi, Chhal – Sheh Aur Maat and ‘Woh Rehne Ki Mehlon Ki.

We wish Aamir better luck next time!!!
