There is a thin line between loving and being obsessive – Manoj Chandila

The shades of a character on a TV show can change overnight and there are just a few talented actors who accept the twists and dare to perform impeccably in all variants. One such actor is Manoj Chandila, who has suddenly become an obsessive lover in Sony Entertainment Television’s Desh Ki Beti…Nandini (Rashmi Sharma Productions).

Manoj who played Abhay, Rajveer’s (Rafi Malik) political advisor has fallen in love with his simpleton wife Nandini (Keerti Nagpure) and this will create a lot of drama in the coming days.

Shares Manoj, “I am enjoying the change, as I feel negative roles and comedy are my forte. Abhay is a man who is very professional and thus this change is surely going to shock Nandini and Rajveer. Apart from that, viewers are surely going to enjoy this twist in the show.”

On the prominence his character has been getting, he avers, “Which actor will not like it? And someone from the unit just told me that this track should have come earlier in the show. But nevertheless I like the change and with positive response from all corners I am satisfied…finally.”

And with the show going off air soon, isn’t he dejected that his turn came so late? “I would like to take it positively and feel good that my track did evolve in the show. As an actor my job is to perform whenever I am being asked to. And now that I have got a chance to do my bit, I will make sure I excel in it,” smiles Manoj.

When asked whether he is taking inspiration from any show or film, the actor tells, “While shooting, flashes of performances of actors do come in mind. And the one which is the most prominent is Shah Rukh Khan’s act in Darr. Abhay will be the same crazy obsessive guy who will do anything to get Nandini. There is a thin line between loving and being obsessive about someone and that will be rightly projected in the show.”

So is he possessive about his partner in real life also? “Not at all. We both are quite comfortable with each other and my wife gives me enough space and vice versa. There is love and understanding and that is enough to keep any relation strong,” Manoj signs off.

We wish you great luck Manoj!!!
