[V] The Buddy Project 26th December 2012 Written Update

Mrs. P is in her Hitler mode with a broom in her hand. She is saying that from now on, Piddi won’t meet his friends. That KD and that strange girl…what’s her name? Piddi is sitting in chicken pose, holding his ears. He smiles and lovingly says Bobby’s name. She beats him and says he is shameless to say her name so lovingly. She’ll make sure he never meets them again. She asks for his phone and tells him about Banga’s warning that if they use cell phones till exams, they won’t be able to sit in exams. Piddi says if she takes his phone, how will he make notes. She hits him again and says for notes there are copies and books, phones aren’t necessary. She forcefully takes out his phone from his pocket and starts spanking with the broom and leaves. Piddi cries and sings, “Main kabhi…batlayata nahin…tere jhadu se darta hun main Maa! Tujhe sab hai pata…” but before he can continue, Mrs. P shouts, “haan haan! Sab pata hai!” Piddi spitefully finishes the song with the words, “Meri maa!”

KD comes home and his father sitting waiting for him. He doesn’t say anything and Mr. D asks KD why won’t he ask him why was he called in school? KD says nothing. Mr. D continues that KD shouldn’t say that he didn’t know about Mr. D being in school. He has been in police duty for the past 25 years. His observation skills are sharp and he knows that KD was with his friends sneaking on them. He continues that Banga told him many things but he knows, KD isn’t like that. KD is surprised hearing this. Mr. D adds that Banga is the principal, he can do anything. And he has cancelled KD’s scholarship. KD is shocked. Mr. D says that KD is well aware of their conditions. It wasn’t ever possible for them to afford a school like RA. He says that KD has to leave RA now. It was on his wish that he gave the scholarship test and passed. But now, things have changed and he has to attend a school which they can afford. He says that he has never liked schools like RA anyway where rich spoiled kids attend. He gives him lecture that schools don’t make future, it’s a person’s will which does so. KD shouldn’t take it to heart and concentrate on his new life now.

Samar is having a scolding session from his father in the presence of his uncle and mother. He is saying that he had thought he would introduce a new variety of sweets in market on his son’s name, “Samar Laddoo”. Samar is distracted by some statues in the room and is smiling. Mr. H (Halwai. Samar’s father as P is already reserved for Punjs :P) gets mad that he is shamelessly smiling while being insulted. Samar gets in his senses and says that Samar Laddoos would seem too downmarket. Mr. H says how can he call 750 rs/kg laddoos downmarket? He orders his brother, by calling him Donkey’s Uncle, to take away Samar’s cell phone. Samar tries to protest but Uncle H. calms him down that he will buy him another one but they shouldn’t risk Mr. H’s anger. Mr. H continues the scolding that he sends him to an expensive school so that he can study, not waste his time. And if he doesn’t want to study, then they have 6 shops to take care of and Samar can take charge. Samar begs him not to do it. Samar says he has gotten smarter now and it’s not like he always wastes time, he goes to the shop after school. His mother intervenes and tries to calm Mr. H down. Mr. H asks Samar what he wants, school or shop. Samar say says, obviously school. Mr. H orders Uncle H. to tell Samar all of Banga’s conditions. He forbids Samar from meeting with friends and wasting time of electronics. If he does, school is over for him.

At night, KD is playing his harmonica. He is remembering Mr. D’s words about concentrating on his new life and forget about RA. KD says to the camera, it’s so easy for his father to say to forget about RA. But how can he? His friends, Kiya, all are there. He can’t leave them. KD is frustrating.

Piddi is studying his alphabets. He gets bored and turns on TV but it isn’t working. He wonders what happened to the set top box. Mrs. P comes and says she took out the set top box. Piddi makes a crying face but says it was nice she did so. All he wanted was to tune in that yoga channel and see some yoga. His mother angrily orders him to study his books and forget the yoga. She leaves. Piddi is about to throw the remote angrily but she orders from inside to put the remote away safely. Piddi becomes nervous.

Mrs. G takes away all of Kiya’s stuff, cell phone, guitar, laptop. She beg her to listen to her but Mrs. G pays no heed. Kiya says this is not unfair. Anya smirks seeing this.

Samar is locked in the room and is begging Mr. H to open it up. His mother comes at the window. He begs her to open the door as he feels caged. She tells him that it’s his study time and he can’t come out. It’s his father’s orders. She hands him the food and asks her to study after having dinner. Samar looks really sad.

RV is having dinner. He remembers Mr. and Mrs. R’s words. Mrs. R is telling that these 4 years are really crucial for him and will pave the path for his future. Mr. R asks him to come at their place everyday for studying. Mrs. R agrees that this way, his regularity will be in check and Panchi will also get help. Panchi is also there and she says she doesn’t need anyone’s help. She will manage herself. In present, RV leaves his food and lies on the bed helplessly.

Morning. KD’s brother wakes him up and says mother is asking him to have breakfast. Mr. D comes there and wakes KD up. KD gets up. Mr. D says he has talked to the principal of the municipal school. KD should go to RA and take his TC and also check that new school. He again tells him to get over it and that a person’s resolve makes his future. He leaves. KD’s brother again says for breakfast. KD says his appetite is over after the lecture. His brother asks will he join a municipal school now? KD doesn’t say anything and sends him away.

Piddi is having breakfast. His phone rings. It’s KD but his mother snatches it away from him. Mrs. P asks KD not to hang out with Piddi again as KD is the reason his son is spoiled. For now, she is saying it calmly. Next time, she will hit him with the same broom with which she hits Piddi. KD is surprised hearing this. Piddi stops his mother from saying this to his school mate. KD disconnects the phone. Mrs. P hits Piddi again and forbids him from meeting KD.

KD then calls Samar. Mr. H picks it up. When KD introduces himself, Mr. H insults him in pure desi style. KD is shocked hearing this. Mr. H says the same thing as Mrs. P that KD is the one spoiling their kids. The phonecall is disconnected. KD looks at his best student award and touches his uniform longingly.

Precap – KD asking someone for a job which will give him big money in short time. The guy says one job is there but for that he has to be daring. KD in a boxing ring, getting beaten up by a big guy.
