When Deepika ‘Sandhya’ Singh got ‘nostalgic’…

Deepika Singh as the adorable wife and daughter-in-law, as well as the tough and confident police personnel has won millions of hearts as the iconic lead character Sandhya in Star Plus’ popular show, Diya Aur Baati Hum (Shashi Sumeet Productions).

However, there was a day years back, when Deepika was unknown to the world, and she started her acting career in a humble way!!

Recently, Deepika along with her cast and crew made a trip to Pushkar, Rajasthan to be part of the heart-warming opening of the ‘Hanuman Galli’ lane in Pushkar. Well, history was created as the fictional lane created by the makers for the show turned into reality.

And this very trip made Deepika nostalgic, as she remembered her beginning and growth as an actor in the industry.

Talking to us about this emotional moment, Deepika told us, “There was a day when I had to run through all the streets in Pushkar for the opening scene of the show. Nobody did recognize me then. But now, as I stood at the same place, the whole crowd present over there was cheering for me and their reactions made me feel so special.”

“For every actor, growth is essential and I have surely grown as an actor with this show. Diya Aur Baati Hum is very special to me, as I have lived the life of Sandhya and enjoyed the journey of Sandhya from being a typical girl from a village to becoming an IPS officer. But with life moving at such a hectic phase, we hardly get a chance to sit back and enjoy the good things that have happened in our lives. I am really glad that this Pushkar trip happened to me. It gave me a chance to remember, recollect and relive the past and appreciate the present. I am indeed thankful to all my fans for all the support that I have received so far,” said Deepika.
