After Diya Aur Baati…Yeh Rishta also to air from Monday to Saturday

Now…someone is really taking the phrase “cut throat competition” seriously. Yes, we are talking about Star Plus. Yesterday (2 October 2012), We broke the news that Shashi Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt Ltd’s Diya Aur Baati Hum will now go six days a week to counter the launch and impact of Colors’ Bigg Boss season 6.

And the latest we have learnt is that the channel has also decided to air its long running show, Director’s Kut’s Production’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai six days a week as well.

We have also learnt that the extension, as of now, will be applicable for a month’s period.

Confirming the same, producer Rajan Shahi stated, “The channel has told us to go six days a week. But there is absolutely no threat from other shows on different channels. May I remind you that two years ago, Star Plus had shows running for seven days a week. We are starting with six days as of now,”

Averred Karan Mehra, who essays the role of Naitik, “As of now, we are going six days a week for a month. There will be intense drama in the coming episodes; there be some misunderstanding between me and Akshara (Hina Khan) as she will feel that I still love my ex-girlfriend, played by Antara (Akansha Kapil). But in spite of all this, things will eventually get sorted.”

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai completes 1000 episodes on 12 October (2012).
