Arjun 14th April 2013 Written Episode

A man furtively walks into a seedy & garishly decorated bar cum gambling done clutching a bag to his chest. He asks around for someone called Soni aka Cricket waale Soni.He is pointed to an inner room where a group of men are watching a cricket match & frantically speaking on phones. A Cricket Betting Business is in full swing. The man,Dixit, proceeds towards Soni & hands over the bag.It contains Rs 5 lakhs.He begs for his son to be returned. The bookie is shocked & says he does not know anything about his son.The man becomes agitated & demands his son be released.The bookie orders the man to be thrown out.Suddenly Dixit swings a gun out of his pocket just to threaten & shoots Soni accidently.All the punters flee from the spot but Dixit becomes catatonic & drops in a chair.

ETF arrives.Ayesha tries to talk to Dixit but he is shocked into muteness.Identities of both men are established. But it is not clear to ETF yet that a betting business was underway here.Dixit turns out to be a high end pub owner & Soni a respected jeweller.Both men didnt know each other & no records of them having spoken on the phone are found.ETF is confused as to what could have brought them to such a shady place to meet.

Chotu has a minor gastric cramp & Shree teases him about taking off from work to eat at a wedding.

Sakshi walks in wearinga party dress & demands to be updated.Arjun taunts her about being late & giving importance to Page 3 parties.She taunts him back something.

Arjun is informed that Dixit has two children & no wife.The older daughter is an MBA student & helps her father in business.The younger son is in college.They find a bag containing Rs 5 lakhs.Shree finds out that the money has been withdrawn by Dixit.Arjun is more confused.Why would Dixit bring so much money in a bar & then shoot Soni & then again wait for the police to arrive? Rathore orders Ayesha to take Dixit to the hospital.Arjun notices the cricket match that is going on in the TV Screen.

Arjun & Rathore go to Dixit’s house where they meet Radhika, Dixit’s daughter & her boyfriend,Navin. They ask her about why her father might take Rs 5 lakh to a bar.She says she thought the money was for the new pub they were buying.She does not know anything else.Arjun then notices a photo of the son on his yellow bike.She is about to tell that he is missing but Navin interferes & says he has gone trekking.Arjun asks her where is the trekking trail & Radhika claims she does not know, it might be near the Pune ghats & that Sandy’s phone is unreachable.She tells him he took his bike.Arjun then asks whether Sandy could be at Alvanol where it could be days before Sandy could return.Radhika nods her head vigorously saying that is exactly where he went & Arjun clenches his jaw.He notices a pair of trekking shoes on the rack.

Outside he tells Rathore that Sandy isnt at some trekking trail & that something is wrong with him.Coz his shoes are still here.Rathore points out that maybe he has more than a pair.Arjun retorts he might even have three pairs but there is no place called Alvanol.He made it up.Alvanol is the reverse of Lonavla.The girl was lying.He orders a trace on Sandy’s bike.

At the ETF room.Arjun & Rathore brainstorm.Arjun comes to the conclusion that they are looking at a cricket betting & somehow Sandy is involved.A sketch of a man who was presiding over the business that night is passed around & Sakshi identifies him to be a Chota Dubai, the cricket betting king in Mumbai.

Sandy’s bike is traced.Chotu & Arjun follow a biker into a big bungalow.Arjun signs Chotu to follow him into the house but orders Sakshi to remain in the car.Chotu punches the guard at the gate & enters the compound.He notices a man shooting drugs into a woman’s arm.Seeing Chotu the man flees from there.

What follows is a superbly shot car bike chase through the Mumbai beaches.Arjun jumps on the biker & manhandles him.He asks about Sandy & the man denies having done anything to him.Arjun asks how come he has the bike.The biker says he bought it from Sandy & shows the sale paperwork.Arjun is surprised that the sale price is Rs 5 lakh.

Rathore informs Dixit that he has been given bail & returns his phone & wallet.As Dixit is wlaking out of ETF office he receives a call.He begs the man on the phone to let his son go & that he will pay up as soon as he can.The man on the other end is none other than Arjun.Arjun confronts Dixit & he breaks down.He tells of his son’s addiction to betting & how had been informed of his latest loss of Rs 5 lakh by Navin. Then Sandy disappeared & Dixit receives a call to pay up Rs 5 lakh.Arjun assures Dixit they will find Sandy.

Arjun & Chotu discuss the case in the ETF meeting room & Sakshi is listening in.Arjun finds out that Sandy was heavily involved in betting with Soni & the man Chota Dubai was his boss.Arjun decides that if Sandy is to be traced then Chota Dubai has to be brought in.

Rathore & Ayesha are dressed as a gangster & his moll.They walk into Soni’s jewelry shop & pretend to buy expensive wedding jewelry.Rathore boasts of his willingness to pay as much as Rs 50 lakhs to buy jewelry for his sweetheart. He is helping Aysha try on jewelry & both share an intimate eyelock in the mirror.A romantic turn of events has begun in the life of Ayesha & Rathore.

A cricket match is playing on the TV screen & a salesman is keenly observing Rathore.Rathore then hands over Rs One lakh to the owner & asks him to place a bet for him.The owner is shocked & says no such thing is done here.He asks the couple to leave.Rathore is surprised as he picks up the bundles of money.The Soni lead has failed.Both walk out disappointed.Ayesha cheers Rathore saying atleast she could shop for her wedding jewelry.Rathore is shocked & blushes.

The salesman follows them & tells them that Soni’s betting business was a secret but he was his assistant & knows everything.Rathore asks him to place a big bet but not before meeting Chota Dubai.A meeting is arranged on the phone & Rathore & Ayesha go to meet him.Finally Chota Dubai comes face to face with Rathore & welcomes them warmly.He offers them coffee & Rathore says they will drink coffee but at the ETF office.Chota Dubai is arrested.

At the interrogation room Chota denies he has done anything to Sandy.He has why should he do anything when Sandy has paid all his dues.ETF is shocked.A thorough checking of the bookie’s accounts show that Navin too was involved in betting.Arjun remembers how Navin had lied about the trekking thing & it was him who had informed Dixit about Sandy’s betting debt.He was actually trying to get Dixit to settle his own gambling bet.

At the Dixit house a ransom is received again.But Dixit is firm with the man on the phone saying unless he hears Sandy’s voice he wont pay anything.Navin who is standing by is shocked.So is Radhika.Navin says he is playing with his son’s life & Dixit asks him to mind his own business,Navin angrily walks off from there.Radhika asks her father if he is sure.Her father asks her to trust him.

Shree who has tapped Dixit’s phone informs Arjun & Rathore about the exchange. ETF wanted to know where Sandy is held so they had asked Dixit to insist on talking to his son.Both Rathore & Arjun with their teams are outside Dixit’s house watching at the happenings in the house thro binoculars.

Navin walks out on the balcony & orders the man who is holding Sandy captive to let him briefly talk to his father.The man says what if he blurts out his name to the father.Navin asks him to finish off Sandy.Arjun observes this.

Dixit receives a call from the kidnapper & hears his son’s voice.He is ordered to bring cash to a particular place.The place is traced to Virar but the exact location is not known.Sakshi calls up someone & asks her to check if Navin has some business interests in Virar.An address is located & Rathore leaves with Ayesha to save Sandy.

Dixit along with his daughter leaves with a bag as instructed by the man on the phone.Navin follows them.Arjun & his team also follow them.

At the site Rathore & Ayesha try to locate Sandy.He has been tied to a crane but Rathore too hangs on the crane & saves him.The kidnapper tries to dump both of them but is stopped by Ayesha who points her gun at him.Sandy is saved.

Dixit places the bag as instructed & leaves.Navin then takes the bag & goes to sit back in his car.Arjun is waiting for him his gun drawn.Navin is arrested.

He confesses that he played the entire drama to settle his Bookies debt.Radhika slaps him.Sandy apologies to his father & promises to mend his ways.Rathore firmly tells him to stick to his promise.Arjun delivers his lecture against the evils of gambling & betting.Case closed.
