Chhan Chhan 18th June 2013 Written Episode
The Episode starts with Manthan asking about Manav. Umaben says he knows his responsibility. Manthan taunts Chhan Chhan saying she is sleeping till now. Umaben takes her side, saying she is from a modern family and does not know about these things. Chhan Chhan wakes up and looks out for Manav. She comes out in the hall in her night dress. Everyone are shocked to see her. Chhan Chhan does not feel her mistake and looks at her clothes. Everyone stare at her. She greets everyone. Babuji gets angry and is spellbound.
Ranjana and Sanjana go to Chhan Chhan and asks her to go from here. Umaben says wow, I did not do anything, but Chhan chhan herself is making mistakes. Chhan Chhan asks Sanjana what happened. She asks about Manav. She asks why did you bring me here. Ranjana says don’t you know what you did. Sanjana says you are wearing a night dress and you came in the hall like this. They tell Chhan Chhan that Manav has not told you about this.
They say Babuji will be very angry. Chhan Chhan says I was looking out for Manav, and I did not know everyone would be in hall at this time. Umaben comes there and looks at Chhan Chhan. She comes and says you came there in a night suit. Umaben smiles and becomes polite towards her. She says its not your mistake, its Ranjana and Sanjana’s mistake. They get shocked. They say we are wearing Saree. Umaben says you should have told Chhan Chhan about our rules. She does not know about our rules. Umaben scolds them. Chhan Chhan is silent and sad. She says I did not know this would happen. Umaben says when I came in my house once, I was making food in the kitchen, and my pallu slipped, and my mother-in-law gave me a big punishment. Chhan Chhan says why, for this. If any mistake happens, you should explain it to them. Umaben says rules are rules, equal for everyone.
Ranjana thinks now it will be fun, when Umaben gives her punishment. Umaben tells Chhan Chhan that I’m with the modern lifestyle, but I don’t know what Babuji will do. Babuji is angry. Manthan talks in favour of Chhan Chhan. Manek says our house has some rules, which she broke. Manthan says yes, Umaben will feel sorry as she is responsible for this marriage. Babuji scolds Manthan saying nothing has changed and nothing will change. A plate slips from Maansi’s hands, and Babuji leaves the table. Umaben says she was afraid of this that Babuji will be angry. She says I will save you from his anger.
Ranjana asks about the punishment, Umaben says if you have done a mistake, you have to bear the punishment. Umaben says you both should have the punishment, Ranjana and Sanjana are shocked. Umaben says my mother-in-law punished me even more strictly. She asks Chhan Chhan to come for breakfast. Umaben leaves. Umaben is happy thinking Chhan Chhan will leave in four days. Chhan Chhan feels sorry for Ranjana and Sanjana.
Chhan Chhan gets her family’s call. All of them talk together. Maithili talks first and asks her how she is. Chhan Chhan says she is fine. Maithili says I m not crying and she cries. Chhan Chhan says if you cry then I.. Karthik talks to her and asks did you sleep well. He asks her to take care. Chhan Chhan says I will take care, you don’t worry. Rushaali talks to Chhan Chhan.
Rushaali says I have designed your room, and we have taken your room. Chhan Chhan says its my room, don’t touch it. Chhan Chhan asks about the dogs. Dadi talks to Chhan Chhan and asks her did the family members meet you well. Chhan Chhan says everyone met me well. Dadi says the first day is special. She asks Chhan Chhan to make friendship with Umaben and not worry if any mistake happens. She says Manav is with you to take care of you. Chhan Chhan thinks where is Manav..

June 18, 14:54A lot of news has been doing the rounds since Chhanchhan went on air, about Farhan Khan’s replacement and that he did not fit in the role of Manav. He has always maintained silence about the rumours and focused only on his performance but for the first time Farhan Khan speaks up about all the rumours and news that has been making rounds for the past 2 months.
On the latest news which says that Farhan Khan has got into depression and that the quote has been made by his family:
“I am not in depression. I don’t know what the media has been writing about me. I don’t know with whom the media people spoke to, as my family is out of Mumbai for the past 1-2 weeks. And about my family saying that I am in depression is just something made up because more than anyone else my family knows that I am a fighter and to make Farhan Khan depressed you will have to kill him twice, as there is nothing which can make me depressed.”
On quitting the show himself and not being thrown out:
“I am very much happy that I am out of the show, because I myself wanted to leave the show. No one knows but 12 days before I left the show I had told the production house that I wanted to leave. I want to make it clear I was not kicked out of the show, but I left the show myself. The news even said that I am blaming the production house, well it is the best production house I have ever worked with, and whatever has happened, is a mutual decision between us. The producer, Vipul Shah is a great person and I am not blaming anyone. At times things work out and at times things do not work out so no one is to blame for it.”
Speaking about his equation with Sanaya Irani:
“Honestly speaking, Sanaya Irani and I have never been friends from the beginning. I respect Sanaya as an actress, but Sanaya has never liked me and we have not really been on talking terms with each other other than professionally. And it is normal, that with some people you get along well while with others you don’t and that’s how it was with me and Sanaya. I don’t have any grudges against her, I wish her all the best in life, and may ChhanChhan rock and climb up on the TRP chart”.
About the rest of the cast not being happy with him:
“There were rumours stating that the cast was not happy with me and didn’t like my company. Well, I have no idea where these rumours came from, I know that people of my cast were crying on the day, I told them I am leaving the show! I still get their calls, so I seriously don’t know which cast they are talking about”.
On fans not accepting him:
From the first day itself, I have put all efforts in the role as Manav and I am happy that I have got fans appreciate my work and liked it. Of course, everyone cannot like you and I completely understand that as it has just been very hard for me as fans still have not given up on Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti’s jodi. For them to see Sanaya Irani with someone else was very hard. I kept trying to fit in, while everyone kept comparing me with Barun. I don’t fit in Barun’s category, Barun is a different person and I am a different person. This has always happened on television, like if you look 10 years back, we had the Tulsi Virani and Mihir Virani Jodi. The audience is in love with the character and no one can replace that. The same goes with Khushi and Arnav, they will always be a favourite Jodi and for someone else to act opposite any of them, they will always be compared to the original jodi”.
“I even read a lot of comments made on me. Any kind of comment is welcome because it is their perception. Some people are writing so much good about me and some people are writing so much bad about me but it is surprising how some people can take television so much seriously. All I can say is that criticism makes me more stronger”.
On the show not doing well
“In the show I was not the protoganist, it was focused on ChhanChhan. The show didn’t do well for many reasons and the production house never blamed me and neither do I want to take the blame for the show not doing well. There were many facts like IPL, and fans wanted to see Sanaya with Barun after her last show. The audience was also trying to find Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon story in ChhanChhan, but they will have to realise that this is a complete different show and complete different star cast”.
On what he has learned in the 2 months that he was a part of Chhanchhan:
“Apart from acting I have learned a lot of other things, like politics, which is a major part of the industry. We don’t only have to focus on the acting skills, but also the politics. I used to go on the sets and wish Good Morning to everyone right from the co-stars to crew, spotboy etc. I was told that I should think about my reputation and that I didn’t need to wish the spot people or make-up artists. But this is not the way I am brought up, after all we are humans. I don’t have that kind of an attitude that just because he is earning lesser than me or is on a lower job, I will be impolite towards them. I don’t feel you need to have such kind of attitude just because you are an actor. I am not like that and will never be like that. But I have got my lesson and I have seen a lot of people writing negative about me, but everything is welcome, as crisitism makes me stronger. This is not the end of life, I am young, I can talk, speak, eat and I am educated, so I believe there are a lot of opportunities ahead. My mom says I am the most handsome person she has ever seen, and I believe her, as moms don’t lie.
On his future plans:
I am happy that I am not going to be known as Manav all my life as I want to be known as Farhan Khan. We have seen Shah Rukh Khan has done many roles in the name of Rahul, but he is still recognised as Shah Rukh Khan. At times even these days when I walk on the streets people still recognise me saying “Ohh that is Manav”, which is a great feeling, but by the end of the day I want to be known as Farhan Khan. I don’t want to be recognised by the character name but by Farhan Khan. I am happy I have done Chhanchhan but Chhanchhan is not the end of my life. Chhanchhan was a part of my life, which is not there anymore, but I am happy as the decision has been mine and I believe I have a lot to achieve in life ahead”.
On how he keeps himself busy these days:
“These days I am spending most of my time reading. The weather is amazing these days so I am enjoying it. I had some meetings with different channels and I am happy with the decision I have taken.”

June 18, 14:44Mumbai: Popular TV actor Anuj Sachdeva, who has stepped in the shoes of fellow Farhan Khan in daily soap ‘Chhanchhan’ as a replacement, says he was in two minds initially to accept the show.
Anuj is known for his role in TV serials like ‘Sabki Laadli Bebo’ and ‘Phir Subah Hogi’.
“When I was offered this show (as a replacement) I was not sure if I should accept it. As I was not keen on doing TV, I was not doing anything on small screen for a year-and-half or so. I had taken break from TV. Hence I took time to decide. Eventually I took it up as a challenge,” Anuj said.
Anuj was sceptical as he wanted to focus on his film career. But now that the lines between small and big screen are blurring, he decided to take up the show.
He has a film in his hand but is not willing to share any details about it.
Currently, Anuj plays the role of Manav, who is in love with Chhanchhan (Sanaya Irani). Though Anuj did see the promos of the show, but he never got a chance to watch the serial.
“There is a little pressure as I have to play a character which has been played by someone else earlier. To come as a replacement for someone is difficult and challenging,” Anuj said.
“But today memory of the audience is too short. I am hoping people will accept me as Manav,” he said.
Anuj insists he will make the character his own and create a new identity with it. There were rumours that lack of on-screen chemistry between Farhan and Sanaya resulted in dropping TRPs of the show.
“I know Sanaya since quite some time. We have met earlier. It is easy for me to work with her. She is very helpful. I am hopeful we will make a perfect on screen couple for this show,” Anuj said.

Happiness, celebrations and wishes rains on the entire cast and crew of Optymistix’s Chhanchhan, as the show is going to complete its journey of 50 episodes tonight. The entire cast and crew is elated to celebrate the moment of joy.
TellyBuzz spoke to Dheeraj Miglani aka Himanshu, who said, “The journey of 50 episodes has been very nice for me and I am happy that the show has completed 50 episodes. I have had some of the sweetest memories with the team on the sets like when we went for a picnic for a shoot. Then there was a scene in which Supriya Pathakji was feeding me and I had to eat a lot and at that time I enjoyed a lot by drinking lots of Mango Lassi and other things.”
Wishing that the show goes on to do better, Dheeraj further added, “My best wishes are always with the show and we have to cover a long journey. I wish the show will soon be on top. It’s just a beginning as the theme of our show is Chhanchhan – The Modern Bahu. And now begins the journey of Chhanchhan as a bahu. More twist and turns are waiting ahead in the show and Himanshu is yet to be married (laughs).”
Srman Jain aka Rugved, says, “It has been a wonderful journey of 50 episodes. I met wonderful people through the show like Sanaya Irani. She is one of best persons I have ever met in life, who is so sweet and genuine. I keep meeting Mohit Sehgal also who is also a wonderful person. The entire cast and crew is very sweet. I am very happy and we do lots of masti together on the sets; especially with Sanaya. I have spent some of the best times with her on the sets. I remember the scene were we had to hold a snake during our picnic shoot. We had a lot of fun and we clicked pictures with the snake even though we were scared.”
Giving his best wishes to the show, Srman said, “I wish all the best to the show Chhanchhan, the whole cast and crew and the creative team, Renuji and Garima and also to Rituji, who have worked really hard for the show. Farhan Khan will be missed today. This was his first show and he is a very sweet guy. He must also be missing us today.”
