Ek Doosre Se Karte Hai Pyaar Hum 11th June 2012 Written Update by Dipinthi

The episode begins with Aniket walking home, and Sushila gathers her family together to welcome him. She’s all bubbly and excited, and asks them all to welcome him with applause, since it’s his ‘first day, first show’. Aniket walks in to his family applauding his efforts . Nikhilesh asks him, if he got the job. Sushila notices the bag, and wonders out loud, if he bought presents for them all from his first salary!

Aniket calmly explains, that since he’s not a graduate, he couldn’t get the post of the Assistant Store Manager. On being asked by Samyukta about the job he’s secured, he says that he’s a door-to-door salesman, and has to display salwar-kameez pieces and dress materials; he opens the bag and shows her the apparel. While everyone looks a bit dejected, Shashwat pokes fun at Aniket, that he’ll be selling clothes to strangers . *How annoying!!* Samyukta shuts him up.

Foram points out their social stature, and asks Samyukta if she thinks this is fair, that the son of highly respected parents like Nikhilesh and Samyukta Mazumdar should go about as a door-to-door salesman . Aniket replies, that he will change the subject, if they ask him if he’s the Mazumdar’s son . Nikhilesh cuts him short, and tells him to declare it proudly, that he (Aniket) is their son! He goes on, that they won’t be embarrassed. Instead, they’ll hold their heads high and feel proud of their son *Ye hui na baat!*

Samyukta proudly tells her twin kids, that the person they address as dad, is, today, a renowned man with many life-saving medicines patented in his name. But once upon a time, he used to go from one doctor’s clinic to another’s, in blistering sunshine, carrying a brown bag. Nikhilesh explains to Aniket, that every work (and everyone) has its humble beginnings.

“Seedi chadni ho, to neeche khada rehna hi padta hai.” (sic)

Shashwat agrees, and pats Aniket on the back, and tells him to stay strong. Sushila quips in, that Aniket should sell so many salwar-kameez by the time of their parents’ wedding anniversary, and convert every Gujrati woman to a Punjaban, that they should start saying ‘balle balle’ instead of ‘bhale bhale’

The secne shifts to Rupesh telling Tejal, that every girl’s dream is to get married in a place where there’s no mum-in-law. She replies that “Saasu-ma mein ma dhoondhni hai.” The cheeky boy tells her, that he has a mom . Tejal cuts him short, saying when he himself doesn’t like his mother, how can he expect her to like her. She adds, her dream house should have a down-to-earth and humble husband and a LARGE family, and a mum-in-law, who will shower her with love and affection. Her father is watching them sadly

A woman arrives there, and tells a small kid, that he should be at home, learning his math, instead of riding his bike. The kid smiles at Tejal, and asks her to take his mom, for free! After her friends leave, she turns around, and spots her father, who hands her a packet *I didn’t understand what it is.. It’s some kind of a sweet dish, I suppose.* She senses he’s upset about something, and prods him to spill the beans. Her dad almost breaks down, that no matter how much he loves her, he can’t give her a mother’s love. She responds, that he’s ‘pappa no.1’, and that he’s fulfilled the roles of mom, dad, maternal as well as paternal grandparents and given her all the love she deserves . However, she adds that his wife and her mom are irreplaceable. If anyone could take a mother’s place, God would never have created parents in pairs. She manages to cheer him up with her innocence.

Aniket is in his room, preparing a chart organizing his earnings. Nikhilesh and Vinoy try to get him talking, and discuss some of his childhood memories with him. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Sushi is mixing the dosa-dough. Samyukta asks her, why she’s planning to make dosas, when she’s already prepared a four course dinner for Aniket. Sushila explains the story of one of her movies, where she was a foreign-returned village chieftain’s daughter, who had to try numerous times to successfully wear a dhoti. Samyukta ki dimag ki batti nahi jali, to Sushi explains that the dosa is a movie, in which Samyukta has to act alongside her .

Vinoy is still trying to cheer Aniket up, and asks him to demonstrate his marketing techniques. Aniket tries, but breaks into tears. Nikhilesh gathers his crestfallen son in his arms, and Vinoy asks with brotherly concern, if Aniket would like to share his thoughts *With a dad and big bro like them, who on earth would feel dejected! Loved Vinoy’s expressions in this scene*. Aniket shows the report he’s made. Vinoy jovially tells him to enjoy his work, have fun in taking up new challenges, and not bother about little things that can bring unhappiness . Aniket tells them, he’s not worried about customers refusing to buy his wares. He’s more concerned about not living up to his family’s expectations. Nikhilesh is about to say something, but Vinoy gestures him to let Aniket be. *Vinoy always knows the right things to say, and the perfect moments to say them in.*

The kids are getting restless at the dining table, and Shashwat demands food. Sushila comes running excitedly, and tells everyone to visit the Samyukta-Sushila dosa stall in the kitchen. Sushila is busy impersonating a Madrasi lady selling dosas, and has everyone laughing! She even manages to imitate Rajnikant, when Vinoy calls her his superstar wife! *These two are the cutest!*

Sushi and Samyukta start their act. According to their little play, the dosas are not turning out good, and Sushila gets everyone to pray, that the next few shouldn’t turn bad like their previous ones. It’s a cute little competition between saas-bahu, with their respective husbands cheering for them. Sushi deliberately spoils her dosa , and sadly tells Samyukta that she’s not getting it right. Samyukta tells her, that her dosa is turning out fine, because she didn’t take her failures to heart and give up trying. Aniket is listening. Shashwat says, that no matter how many dosas they broke, this one came out well, and that a person should never give up hope. Samyukta and Sushila drive the point home, and Aniket looks a bit hopeful

Precap

Tejal and her baccha-party are playing, and she throws the ball at her aunt, by mistake . Later, at their place, the aunt asks Tejal, if she’s ever lent her hand in household chores. Tejal’s dad replies, that when they didn’t have water running for a few days, there was a huge pile of dirty dishes. The aunt smiles, thinking Tejal had helped her brother , but he goes on to say, that Tejal invited (read threatened) their neighbour to do the dishes. The neighbour not only washed the dishes, but also left them a few pails of water . Tejal is all smiles!
