Sethji slaps them both saying they are worthless as they were not able to do a single task, one of them says that they wee about to do it but the police came there however he promises to complete it, Sethji leaves saying then they should come to him after completing their work while further advising them to not talk about it with anyone. The people talk that if Bhim Rao was not there then they both would have died because Bhim Rao stopped the constable saying they both are just servants, the other person says they went there to kill Bhim Rao thinking of them as the upper class but the other person says no matter what they say but they are just the workers.
Everyone is anxiously waiting when they see Bhim Rao coming so they ask everyone to stand up explaining they have to give the verdict which they have decided upon collectively. Bhim seeing them all apologizes for still going to meet Puran because they tried to stop him but he does not feel bad and he feels they should also listen to the story which Puran jee has told him but the neighbors say they are not interested in hearing his story but have made a decision which is that if he continues to fight for Puran then is not going to stay in this Chawl but stay out from it, Bhim is shocked when they say that if anyone comes to arrest Bhim then they can clearly say they do not have any say in the actions of Bhim., Ramji explains had Bhim listened to their desires then they would have surrendered themselves to the police but since Bhim is not interested in caring for their desires then they are standing by the people of the Chawl.
Bhim accepts that it is their mis fortune that someone from their own class is being forced to be a prisoner but Bhim replies he is only going to stay outside the Chawl so they everyone can him fight for the right of Puran jee so that if he dies then they can witness it and if he is able to bring back Puran jee then they should also witness his victory. Bhim Rao turns his back away when Jija Bai along with all the other neighbors ask everyone to come inside and let Bhim fulfill his punishment, everyone leaves so after a while Rama also walks into the Chawl, she goes to bring a bed for Bhim Rao who is just standing there, she places it on the floor while Bhim is still looking the other way. Rama quickly sets the bed then walking to Bhim asks him to sit there, but Bhim just remains standing so Rama asks what happened to Puran jee, she asks him again but he is still quiet. Bhim turns back thanking Rama for giving his leave application to the office when Rama asks how did he know, Bhim replies that he figured it out because had they not got the application then would have cursed them a lot but who else can give it other then her. Rama says that he should know she wants to know what happened, Bhim Rao says that she was standing with everyone else so he does not feel like telling her the truth, Rama asks if he is punishing her for not standing by his side when Bhim replies that she took a decision so now he feels he also has the right, Rama returns back saying then he should not say anything.
Rama enters the house when they ask her why is she crying so Jija Bai questions if he scolded her when she says that her husband is not like this, Rama tries to go inside but Jija Bai makes her swear on the life of Bhim, Rama explains that she asked Bhim what happened with Puran but he did not say anything to her explaining he has the right to decide what to tell someone, Rama says she knows it is not a big thing but she today felt that Bhim has made her a stranger. Jija Bai asks why is Rama saying it is not a big thing because he always kept saying that a wife should ask whatever she desires from her husband but Jija Bai says that Bhim has today become just like Aanad and Bala, she explains the strength of a boat is determined when it is tested but Bhim failed in this test and he became a husband, Jija Bai exclaims she will seek the answer from Bhim when the aunt asks if Jija Bai has ever thought of Rama as her daughter in law, Jija Bai angrily says that she has started accepting Rama from today and is going to get the answer.
Bhim Rao sitting thinks that today Rama is wrong and he has understood it, Jija Bai asks Bhim what is the wrong thing that Rama did, Bhim Rao replies that this maters relates to them both as they are husband and wife, Jija Bai exclaims that she loves Rama amongst all of her daughter in laws but everything is meaning less because of Bhim Rao, she asks why di Rama go back to the house crying so Bhim Rao apologizes explaining that he never meant to hurt Rama but I not in a state to talk with anyone. Jija Bai asks what is the difference between an educated Bhim Rao and the illiterate Aanad and Bala,
The aunt asks Rama to go and listen what Jija Bai is talking with Bhim Rao, Rama replies the way that Bhim talked with her today is sure that he is really tensed, so it would not be suitable to talk to him. Ramji agrees with Rama when Aanad asks what is the solution to the big problem of Bhim as how long would he fight for Puran jee when Ramji says till the time he gets justice for Puran jee. They say that this is the fist time Bhim Rao is alone with out the support of his family.B
Bhim Rao says he does not want to talk to her, Jija Bai asks if he thinks that she would not say anything but explains that she has known the truth that Bhim Rao is a selfish person who does not care about anyone other them himself, Jija Bai takes a deep breath exclaiming today she will sleep peacefully. Bhim Rao remembers when Puran jee sitting in the jail cell exclaimed he should die and does not want to sleep, Bhim Rao says some people are not able to find peace because no one listens to them and they donot even get justice, he says she should even think about such people. Jija Bai leaves saying he should think o such people so Bhim Rao gets worried.
