Ek Mutthi Aasman 2nd June 2014 Written Episode

Raghav takes fistful sindur and comes to Kalpi. Kalpi is dazed. Raghav puts all that sindur in her head. Kalpi is so shocked. He says I have loved you with all my heart and today in front of God i made you my wife. If i ever think about anyone else God may take my life from me. He holds Kalpi and says is this proof enough to show you how much i love you ? Just one year is all i need. A year of pain and separation after that even God can’t set us apart. Speak up kalpi. Will you wait for me ? He hugs Kalpi. I have to go to mom but i am leaving my heart with you. Kamla is over hearing them. He is about to leave when he sees Kamla there. Kalpi follows his gaze and sees Kamla. She is so bewildered. Kamla is looking at them in anger. She comes forward and is about to slap kalpi Raghav tries to stop her but Kalpi holds Raghav’s hand. Kamla says you said you won’t meet Raghav. Today you showed that this man is more important to you tha me. Kamla goes forward and sits in tears. She says you left me alone God. I am all alone in the world. My daughter is not even mine. Everything has finished. I don’t want to live in this world. Take me away please. I don’t wanna live. Kalpi says AI please its not your fault its mine. Kamal throws her away and says this is my mistake. When kids do something wrong its all the mother’s fault. What you did Kalpi? Why you did this ? You shattered my dreams my hopes. Me and my dreams everything has lost today. We have put an end to everything. She slaps herself. Kalpi tries to stop her. Kamal says don’t touch me and don’t call me Ai. You killed your ai. You broke your promise and cheated me. Kalpi says Ragahv would have killed himself if i didn’t come. Kamla says what about this sindur ? You can put this and kill my dreams ?

Kamal says you are wrong. Raghav says no she is not Raghav neither is our relationship. I was unlucky not to make her mine. I had to marry pakhi in those circumstances. But she is the only one i consider mine. Kamla shouts quiet. You are responsible for all this Ragahv Singhanya. You took all the happiness of my daughter and now you wanna take them away from me. Ragahv says i know i am wrong anf punish me. Don’t atke kalpi away from me. Kamla says if your wife was someone else not pakhi.I would have done the same. She is the respect of someone. I fed Pakhi and gave her my love and upbringing. You don’t value relations you have made fn of them. You marry Pakhu and purt sindur in my kalpi’s head. You will never understand what is love what are relations. Ask yourself, do you trust yourself ? When you can’t trust yourself how can my daughter trusts you. Just go away from here. Ragahv says pardon me Kamla maa. The God you trust in, I considered Kalpi my wife in front of him. She has sindur of my name in her head and you can’t change this fact. Kalpi is my wife.He leaves. Kamla says Kalpi this sindur only belongs to Pakhi. Remove it. Kamla holds her hand and takes her out.

Kamla takes her out. kalpi says no. Kamla says you don’t get it kalpi. This sindur is not a pure relation. Its a sin. Just remove it. Kalpi says no Ai i won’t. Kamla says its a precious relation which connects you for rest o your life. Ragahv married Pakhi and this sindur belongs to pakhi.Kamla says we made God witness of our love. He doesn’t love Pakhi he loves me. He has promised that he will divorce Pakhi in a year. Kamla says I can’t let Raghav ruin your and Pajhi’s life. I will not let his name in you heart and his sindur in your head. Kalpi is trying to stp her. Kamal says leave me. If you try to stop me then you will see my dead face. kamla takes a water bucket and throws it on kalpi. Kamla says I am your mom kalpi i know your better. She takes more water in her fist and rubs all the sindur from her head. Kalpi is in tears and so is Kamla. There is more sindur in head kamla takes more water and Raghav’s sindur has been removed from your head.

Good morning Phoenix can I ask you something. Firstly, I want to say that I totally understand your position on the marriage issue. I really do. And you are not wrong to consider it wrong. I am looking at it differently, more with the intent and inner man’s position. That is the seat of where everything happens.

My question is: if a man has on paper that woman A is who he is married to, and then he takes an action which deems him married to woman B. He has no physical relationship with either. There is nothing in his inner being that loves, cares, and support woman A. In his inner being, there is nothing there, no thought, no nothing for her.

Regarding woman B, he loves her, he wil give his life for her, he will do anything for her. In his inner being, his emotions, intention, everything is for this woman. Even though there is nothing for woman A and everything in him is for woman B, yet he is not physically involved with either. Who really is he husband to and what makes you chose one woman over another? (Remember now, although he has different positions on each, he is not physically involved with either).

And if this is considered a sin, what makes it a sin? At which point does it become sin? to answer this, you will have to say what is sin, and what or whose measure we align our human actions with, in order to determine that our action is not up to that standard.

This would raise the question of what constitutes a marriage and also the importance of choosing a spouse very wisely . Raghav made a rash decision . In his situation he was using the sanctity of marriage as tool rather than what every religion claims it to be which is a holy bonding of two souls .
There are cases of arranged marriages , still quite prevalent in India . A friend if mine recently got married in this way and another was considering it . In this case the spouse is chosen by the parents and horoscopes are matched , backgrounds and value system checked . Two individuals get together without love , but with common understanding , and most arranged marriages work better than love marriages .
If a married man , looks to another woman to fulfil any of his needs , be it emotional in the sense of love or physical , then I think he is doing an injustice to his wife .
Marriage and divorce is not something I trivialise with .
If the man realises that he isn’t happy with his wife , ( I’ll admit there are extenuating circumstances in everything ) then he needs to do the decent thing and divorce her .

For me a sin is to knowingly and wilfully hurt another individual .
I always try to treat others in the same way that I wish to be treated .
I cannot wish another person any harm while expecting good for myself .
I’m careful with my thoughts , because they can become actions .
Our actions make us or break us .
Something’s are not within my control and I accept the things I cannot change .
      I cannot do God’s work .
While I leave room for mistakes to be made , I pray always to learn from them and to not repeat them .

Sorry for straying off topic 🙂 . ..

      totally agree Suni

adultery is emotional as well as physical

marriage means the submission of both spouses towards each other both emotionally and physically. Some persons dont understand that. Just thinking you want to do something even if its sinless with another person when you can do that with your own spouse is basically adultery. The fact you chose an activity both you and your spouse do with emotional intimacy doesnt have to be sex but you do it with someone else is adultery. Marriage ties bodies, hearts and souls.

Have you ever noticed how couples begin to look alike after a few years or even can guess what the other says before they say it? They are basically tied to each other through their soul bonding.

Paige, he didn’t hide the fact that he married woman A for revenge, not love. He also didn’t hide the fact that he didn’t intend to have a physical relationship with her, and that he loved another woman. Woman A should now ask herself…do I want to submit to a marriage to a man who will use me to destroy my parents because I have a crush on him? Do I want to stay in a marriage knowing that this man’s intention is to leave me when his need for revenge against my parents have been fulfilled? It’s her choice. She has been given the facts and what is she doing? Her usual misunderstanding that every kindness she is shown now must mean that the man is changing his mind about her. Can a person be that stupid? I suppose love really is blind.

And I don’t believe Raghav made a rash decision. That was his intention from the very beginning. He intended to woo Pakhi and eventually would have done the same thing, marry her and exact his revenge. When he realized that he was falling in love with Kalpi what did he do? He took Pakhi out on a date in an attempt to remember what his ultimate goal was. But he couldn’t help falling in love with Kalpi and he would have married her had Gauri not entered the picture and remind him of his original purpose.

Also I don’t think he intends to have Kalpi as his mistress at all. He respects her and she’s not that kind of person. It’s the symbolism of the act that has now bound them to each other while he does what his mother wants.

Kris I have been thinking about this. Consider this: we know adultery to occur when a man/woman has initmate/sexual relations with another person outside his marriage. Do then there is something that many people do not know. My religious teaching says that a man/woman who simply looks at another person lustifully has ALREADY committed adultery. What we see here is something powerful. That when people think that being physical constitutes adultery, we are now told that the adultery aready took place. One may argue “But I never even as much touch that woman how could I have committed adultery?” The answer is exactly what we have bee saying: it is not something physcial that makes something to be or not to be. It begins and ends with the inner disposition of the man or his intention. It is what transpires within the inner man is what is what makes the difference.

Then consider this: if a woman is attacked by a serial rapist. She manages to grab hold a gun and shots him. In fear she just fires the gun, not knowing where she aimed. He rapist is shot dead. A man is dead. Did she commit murder? No she didn’t. There was a physical something there and a man dead but that is not enough to say she is a murderer. Her actions is what will be taken into consideration as well as her intentions.

So too there must be scrutiny in what constitutes real vs. fake marriages. Don’t you agree? And we are seeing it is more than paper.

      June 03, 09:42

Yes Paige. Adultery etc. is not only sex it can be the unlawful thinking, looking etc. Intentions do matter more than actions. Intentions validate actions.

      June 03, 09:44

Paige in our religion it is stated in one of our many scriptures ,or holy books, that even looking or thinking of another man or woman while being married is one of the most deadly sins “Garud Puran”.

But as I said before, some people are just looking at this issue as just black and white, a yes or a no.
Situations are different in every case. It is not just cut and dry.

So to say blatantly adultery is not accepted by me. it is not so cut and dry, there is a “but” factor here.
Well in my view that is, i could be wrong, but that is the way I see it.

Also Raghav want to make things right, but he is not getting a chance by mothers all around.

He genuinely want to make things right.

    • Paige S
      June 03, 10:21

Yes I agree with both of you.

Kris you are right. Certain things are not black and white. There is more to it. A whole lot more to it. Things are no longer judge by actions as they are by intentions. As Mahi says, intentions valid action.

I call for Paakhi to initiate legal proceedings to have her marriage with Raghav annulled. She fully well knows that Raghav loves Kalpi and Kalpi loves Raghav. she knows why Raghav marry her and there’s no future in this sham of a marriage. instead of trying to impress Raghav and his mother, she should bow out of this marriage, go live with her parents where ever they may be or by Kamla.
She would be the one to leave the marriage so Gaurie cannot threaten Raghav to kill herself etc.
And if Raghav was under any contract before so he cannot divorce Paakhi before a year, well he would not be the one breaking the contract but Paakhi so he is not liable and therefore bear no loses. He would be free to rein over the kapoor empire, if they ever had one in the first place.

I agree with the people that say Kamla can wash that sindoor off as much as she wants but it doesn’t change the fact that it was Raghav who place sindoor on Kalpi at the temple. From what i’m seeing it does have significance. If you take into consideration Raghav’s dialogue it means a lot.

I haven’t been able to read all the comments so far, but Suni, i noticed you mentioned about Paakhi and getting an annulment,
I think at this point that is the next best logical thing to be done.
Then we gonna see what Gaurie’s next step would be. Raghav would be relieved in a sense that he won’t be breaking his mother’s promise, Paakhi would get out of a sham of a marriage, Raghav and Kalpi would be free to do what they need to.
But I still don’t want Kalpi to give in easily to Raghav, he wanted a year, take a year, leave h er alone to sort herself out.
Kalpi need to do what Kalpi wants for Kalpi’s happiness and not because her mother tell her do this or not to do that, or Raghav is insisting her for his own.

Kalpi needs to find Kalpi, become headstrong, independent, and should not depend on anyone person or thing or man for her happiness and fulfillment.

Kalpi did everything on her own so far, she was left alone in boarding school,

Raghav did no favour to Kalpi, if the Kapoors did not pay to make her fail, Kamla would not have had to go to Raghav to ask favor to hire Kalpi, or Raghav would not have to go clear her name when he found out. Kalpi would have stood on her own two feet and get the job on her own merit.

    • Paige S
      June 03, 09:37

I agree he did no favour for her but he did something for her that no one else did and which was far more worthy: he showed trust and faith in her to be all she can be notwithstanding the prevailing circumstances (such as the exam failure, etc). And he gave her a chance to prove herself and what she is make out of. Kamla on the other hand refused to believe her, believed instead she was offering a bribe, and refused to give her her blessings when she started out for office on the first day.

Guys, I very well know that Kamla isn’t in for money but she seriously needs to stop being such a domineering woman. She wants Kalpi to be successful and that is partly to become wealthy. Of course she won’t disrespect the people she’s working for but sheltering the very persons that caused her whole family to suffer is ridiculous. He family suffered because of the Kapoors not because they were naturally poor.

    • ℘ℏöḙn̛i̵ҳ
      June 03, 09:47

Mahi , I think that Kamla has no ambition for wealth whatsoever .
Kamla found employment by the Kapoor’s at a time when even Vithal didn’t have employment .
She’s a servant , a maid , she sees herself in this way always when it comes to the Kapoor’s .
I’m not condoning this attribute of hers , but she’s a simple , uneducated woman with a keen awareness of her status .
The Kapoor’s are inherently bad , but Raghav isn’t . Raghav also brought hurt and shame to that family .
Poor Kalpi looked so confused yesterday . She didn’t know who’s commands to obey .
She bent her head in shame , at one point , when her mother confronted her .
I see both Kamla and Raghav as wrong . .. neither of them trusts the girl enough to make her own choices .
Why is Raghav so afraid of losing Kalpi , that he had to make a desperate attempt to bond her to him ??
Why couldn’t he explain his situation and ask her to wait on him if she can ?
He was so quick to stop Kamla from slapping Kalpi , but he was helpless to prevent his own mothers antics .
I join the voices who say that Kalpi needs time away to find herself .

    • M@hi
      June 03, 09:57

Hey Phoenix. I myself noted that Kalpi needs to migrate. Kamla is displaying too much of humility because it is now biased. As we keep saying uneducated shouldn’t mean a lack of common sense.

Remember Kalpi’s reaction she he first told her about waiting a year for him. That’s when he took it further. I don’t agree with him bonding two lives to himself but he needs to work around Gauri first and initiate his divorce with Pakhi. I had also mentioned that Raghav can be given a chance since he has gotten back his mom after so many years.

And as fr kalpi she has no self respect. She is the exact opposite of Jane Eyre a loser nd whore who has no life bt to be a housewife of a loser third graded divorcee

    • ℘ℏöḙn̛i̵ҳ

I don’t think that we can compare this to Jane Eyre . 🙂
Mr Rochester had hidden his mad wife from Jane and had taken advantage of Jane’s naivety in the name of love . I hate that Mr Rochester’s character with a passion !!!
I think Kalpi has self respect , but she’s torn and inexperienced and like some fans have pointed out here , she should go off on her own and find herself . She’s being told what to do by the authority figures in her life and it may not necessarily be in her best interest .
I think you shouldn’t paint all fans here with the same brush . They are very intelligent viewers , but not every person can maintain the same perspective on things however this lends itself to healthy discussions in a positive way .

    1) Why does Kamla expect Kalpi to be obedient to her demands when she herself doesn’t show her family the same courtesy. Time and again she has disregarded her familys requests. Parents lead by example, if you can’t give respect can’t expect to receive it.

2)Kamla is supposed to be a pious woman, seeking God’s guidance and blessings. When she asked for guidance “God” showed her that Kalpi is to be Raghav’s wife. She was hot on Kalpi’s heels so she most probably witnessed “Gods” presence in the temple (bells ringing, wind blowing etc). Why then did she try to undo “Gods” work. She should have said “Deva, what must I do, please help me”. “God” most probably would have replied “Kamla, mind your own business. Don’t question my authority”. 🙂

    3) Bigamy is a sin in Gods eye,and a crime legally. Why would ” God” allow Raghav and Kalpi to marry and wifully commit sin.

    • ℘ℏöḙn̛i̵ҳ
      June 03, 06:06

Kamla did give her blessings to Raghav and Kalpi before when he had come to her swearing to never hurt her daughter . Raghav played with her blessings just like he played with the blessings of God .

Kamla’s family is led by the matriarch , it’s a role reversal situation . I’ve seen many serials where the male of the household gives the orders and everyone has to follow whether he’s right or wrong . I can site Punar Vivah 1 and currently Aur Pyar Ho Gaya as examples . This is simply a situation where the female is in charge .
Kamla’s methods are usually wrong , but she usually has her principles . She’s very dramatic and I guess comparable to Gaurie . I do not condone her methods .

That act of Raghav applying the sindoor was just that , an act . The Hindu wedding ritual consists of so much more . The 7 pheras , the mangalsutra , sindoor is taken from a mang for application . When sindoor is left in temples like this . . it is referred to as Kumkum .
Kalpi is confused , she didn’t become Raghav’s wife and it’s wrong for her to see herself as such . God doesn’t prevent anyone from doing what he/she chooses to do . That is our will of choice .

However , our actions do bear consequences and as a mother Kamla does not want her daughter to carry the sin of considering herself a married man’s wife .

    • NIRVANA
      June 03, 07:02

As I said in previous comments, I am not familiar with the significance of everything within the Hindu faith. I’m trying to understand the significance of the bells ringing and the winds blowing, from what I’ve seen in other seriels and in movies as well, it means that God is present and watching over everything. Based on that, why was Kamla allowed to do what she did. Why was there no manifestation of God, some sign like lightening or thunder etc.
What Kamla did, in her ignorance, is a desecration of something holy and blessed. Even if none of these things apply, shouldn’t she have been more cautious in handling what is otherwise deemed a sacred ritual. I understand that just putting on a ring doesn’t constitute marriage, neither is signing a document for convenience. Based on all the info on the application of sindoor, I understand that Raghav and Kalpi have a genuine marriage.
Herein lies the confusion for “ignorant”viewers like me. There’s a contradiction of what is right. Is it okay for time honour customs and traditions to be ridiculed and trivialised in the name of entertainment?? What about easily influenced minds that believe everthing they see to be based on some kind of truth.

      I’m just wondering! 😉

    • ℘ℏöḙn̛i̵ҳ
      June 03, 07:22

Unfortunately this is the norm in most Indian serials where God can be seen to give his blessings for almost anything , from true love to a man about to enact revenge or a child pursuing studies . .. It’s a method that’s much overused by these production houses .
With regards to the sindoor . It was rushed off n the same disrespectful and hasty manner in which it was applied .
The rule that you are speaking about , with regards to sindoor application equating a marriage , is most likely prevalent still , only in areas that lack proper governance and adherence to the law .
We live in 2014 , and the Hindu marriage is full of rituals even at its most basic level .

I’ll make a point . When Kalpi was robbed of her qualifications and made to believe that she had failed , she couldn’t accept a supervisory role although she had done her work and God had recognised her efforts . . . Man made laws couldn’t accept her without her credentials .
It’s the same here . Although Raghav and Kalpi consider themselves married at heart , they are not married in any other way , Raghav is still married to another , and for Raghav to apply that sindoor and to step into an area that he has no qualifications to be in , is simply blasphemous .

    • Paige S
      June 03, 09:52

      Nirvana…very good and humourous comment.

I think Phoenix that you are right in some ways here. I think Raghav applied th sindoor to asusre that Kalpi is his wife in heart and soul and WILL MARRY her as promised. (Noticed I said “will marry” which is a future action). And after 1 year they will do the marriage proper. This goes back to what I thought was a good interpretation of yours of him placing the sindoor on her head last Friday.
I’m trying to retrieve your words: i think it is something about it being symbolic and an indication that they will wait for each other in trust and faith until they become unified at a later date. (I liked that)

      I remember my words Paige 🙂 . .
I really dislike the imagery though of Raghav applying that sindoor . . It held more desperation than love in my mind as I am accustomed to witnessing the beauty of that moment when sindoor is applied . It is something sacred like the ring being placed on the marriage finger .

I totally believe that Raghav and Kalpi are bonded in love but Raghav acted like Kamla in this instance , or rather he overreacted like her 😀 . .. Applying the sindoor is one thing , but claiming her as his wife , is taking it way too far . ..

The way that Raghav stood by Kalpi when Kamla, the fake mother, raised her hand once again to slap Kalpi is very commendable. That’s what one want from a husband, to protect her wife even if it’s her own mother, who is acting as the villain…In a very respectful manner of his own way of doing, Raghav did tell Kamla to get lost as he considers Kalpi as his wife and she can do whatever she wants, she will never be able to change this pure and simple fact.

And Kalpi too, great to see you come out from your mutism and voice out that you love Raghav and consider yourself to be wed to Raghav against every odds and is ready to wait for him…

Now Kalpi you must fight your battle against Kamla and Pakhi doings. Bec now Kamla knows Raghav’s intention of getg divorce within one year she will do all scheming to push her to Pakhi in the arms of Raghav. She will continue to encourage Pakhi to act as a dutiful wife even when she knows that Raghav does not consider her as wife nor loves her.

It’s time for Kalpi to move out from the chawl towards her very own destiny. She needs to become independent from her mothers’ clutches, grow up and be ready to fight her own battles. If she remains with Kamaa, one day or the other Kamla will get her to do as per binding by emotionally blackmailing her again and again which is now becoming too much….

As a mother myself I would not do to my own flesh and blood what she is doing to Kalpi – her own child and favouring the spoilt rich kid. I hate her with a passion

Which makes me sceptical. Is Kalpi really Kamla’s real daughter…

I think Kamla contracted Mad Cow disease. Not only she is getting dumber day by day now she displays mad characteristic. Did she really gave birth to Kalpi ?…….
I am not familiar with hindu custom and I do wish kalpi to treated in a more dignified way. But the moment raghav applied the sindoor on kapli in the temple I do believe that there is an unbroken bond created between Ragna with the blessing of god . The act of Kamla washing away the sindoor has little significance as Raghav is still alive not dead.
I wish Kalpi will move away from all this madness and spread her wings elsewhere without the continuos inteference of Kamla . As viewer I find Kamla antics are just too iratating too watch. I think we had enough of kamla and her pet kid pakhi.
Honestly she is the worst role model of a mother. Constantly caring for other people child , always assuming that her own offspring are strong and does not need her love and support. In reality it doesn’t work that way . Always disobeying her husband in reality she would have been left by her husband. There is no husband in the world that would have been accomodating like Vittal. Serial writers should have potrayed the characters especially the women in better manner. They have a responsibility to generate good values that people can uphold and relate to. EMA has brilliant casts the script should have been mould in such a way that it bring out the best from the cast. It is pity too see Madam Shilpa to be bashed for acting out her role as Kamla.
Serials are supposed to give us entertainment not increase our blood pressure. Realistic twist are more welcome.

Yes , I agree that Kamla acted like a mad woman . I also agree that there is a bond of love between Raghav and Kalpi .
What I don’t agree with is the manner in which Raghav has made Kalpi believe that he’s her husband by applying that sindoor . Kamla could have behaved rationally and explain the situation to her daughter instead of her irate rampage . She could have said :

” Kalpi , this sindoor doesn’t mean that you are married to this man . I recognise that you love him very much , but love alone doesn’t equate a marriage within the laws of our land , you have no rights on him . He is married to Pakhi , he hasn’t divorced her , she’s his legal wife . “

Totally understand ur point of view. As I have said kalpi deserves to be treated with dignity. The writers should have made leave mumbai the moment raghav made revenge as a priority. Pershap later on they can meet and mend the relationship once everything is settle .No matter how u look at it , doesn’t seems right to hurt pakhi along the way. Revenge will only escalate more hatred.
What are the EMA team trying to justify in all this twist and turn is really mind boggling.
I think all off are having difficult time trying to make sense out of each episode.
The real victims are RAGNA ..for what started as a innocent love story has been marred by unrealistic story line.

Hii everyone o my god nuclear bomb have fallen now their will be a blast in everyones life. I think story Is going to take a new twist now the matter is different because in someway raghav and kalpi are related to eachother I know raghav have not divorced pakhi so kalpi is not his legal wife, but he have put sindoor in front of the god and make her the witness so that means he whole heartedly accept her as his wife and this kamla what she is saying that the sindoor belongs to pakhi common man she should understand that in anyway raghav cannot be pakhi’s husband because for becoming a wife you should have all the rights and love of her husband which neither of them pakhi have and never will so kamla plss pissoff and even raghav said right that she has sindur of my name in her head and you can’t change this fact.she cannot deny that somehow kalpi is married to raghav now after all this can she I just hope kalpi and raghav stand by eachother that will be a tight slap on kamla,s face.
