Hiten Tejwani to enter Sanskaar: Dharohar Apnon Ki as Lord Krishna!

The actor will enter as Lord Krishna this week to help Jai and Dhara find the Krishna idol that has been stolen from the Vaishnav family.

If you have not had your fill of Hiten Tejwani, who has had just a handful of scenes in Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta as Ankita Lokhande’s grandfather of late, then you are in for a treat. The actor will very soon be seen in Colors show Sanskaar: Dharohar Apnon Ki; the promos will go on air tonight and Hiten’s appearance begins mostly by Thursday, 21 November.

In the current track the Lord Krishna idol has been stolen from the Vaishnav family’s home and Jai and Dhara have vowed to get it back. Now it seems Lord Krishna himself will help the duo. Hiten says about the role, “It is kind of on the lines of Oh My God where I will come down as Lord Krishna because Dhara is a devout Krishna follower. So every time she worships him with all her belief he will appear to help her.”

Currently it is a cameo and doesn’t require long-term commitment or long hours from Hiten, who prefers it this way. “This gives me enough time to concentrate on other projects like Pavitra Rishta, Saavdhan India (Life OK) or even my films. So I’m quite happy with the arrangement. If the role takes off well then who knows it may extend; it is too early to say.”

This is not the first time Hiten is playing a mythological character; before this, he played Karna in Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki on 9X. “Back then most people used to say that I would play two characters from Mahabharat very well, one was Karna and the other was Krishna. I am so glad I get to play that too now,” he says.

Other than his television projects, Hiten is shooting for his Bollywood film Tere Aane Se, in which he plays a college student, someone going through midlife crisis and an old man. The film will take him to Paris in the beginning of next year and if it is on schedule then it will see a July release. “Till then I will pick up projects that excite me; I’m not interested in taking up just about anything that comes my way,” says Hiten.
