“I like sweet and simple girls”- Sunny Goraya

We in conversation with Sunny Goraya who plays Ram Kapoor’s brother Rishabh in Bade Acche Laggte Hai on Sony TV

Your character Rishabh isn’t shown all that much. Does that upset you?
I can’t really comment on this. The creatives will be the best to comment on this. My character Rishab also has two sisters. They aren’t showing my elder sister as well. I am just an actor there. I execute the scenes that I am supposed to.

Does it get financially tough for you as you don’t shoot for Bade Acche Laggte Hai too regularly?
I have a two year contract with the show of which one year is already over. The show has given me great exposure. I am also doing episodic shows, commercials, music albums, theatre and print shoots. I am working 25 to 26 days in a month. I am earning well.

After the generation leap on the show you are a married man. Are you looking forward to being a father on the show soon?
I had requested the creative team that I didn’t want to become a father after the generation leap. In real life I am just 23, too young to look like a father.

According to you has the generation leap brought about a great change for your character?
Nothing really has changed. It was just a generation leap.

Do you have a girlfriend now?
I don’t have a girlfriend now. Where is the time? I need to devote quality time to my girlfriend. I just don’t have that time now. I would prefer to have a girlfriend who is not from the TV industry. I like sweet and simple girls. I don’t like loud girls. I don’t want to get married for another seven to eight years.

I hear you are an animal lover and have a vegetarian pet dog. Is that true?
I have a seven year old male cross-breed dog called Jacky. He is a pure vegetarian dog who likes to eat cucumber, mango, sweets, oranges, tomatoes and ice-cream. He loves to play with the ball with his family, take naps and go on long drives. He is averse to lizards, cats, mice and the sound of the pressure cooker. He doesn’t like to be disturbed while he is asleep. When he is shouted at for doing something naughty he shows his remorse by apologetically hiding under the sofa.
