“Disha and I compliment each other’s working style” – Nakuul

We in conversation with Nakuul Mehta who is seen essaying the role of Aaditya in Pyaar Ka Dard Hai… Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara on Star Plus

How did Pyaar Ka Dard Hai…Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara happend? How did you end up getting the role of Aditya?

PKDH happened to me out of the blue. I was working on my Indie film, ‘Avant garde pythagoras sharma’ last year when I received a call from Rajshri for the show. I have had a long standing association with the Production House and this chance to work together seemed too good to be refuse. When I heard the concept and my role, I just knew that I had to be a part of this. Fortunately, the channel loved my screen test as well and bingo, I am playing Aditya.

Do you believe in the concept of the show, that upbringing can develop a person?

Yes I do. Whatever, I am today, personally, is to a large extent because of the upbringing my parents gave me. So the credit or blame should go to them. Similarly, Adi is someone who has been primarily shaped by the relationships or lack of them within his family. I can completely relate to and feel for somebody like Adi though personally I am very different from him.

How is your bonding with your co-star Disha Parmar?

Disha is great costar. We barely spoke initially as she is very reserved and an introvert but with time we’ve managed to break the ice and now I share a great rapport with her. She is still a quiet person and speaks not more than 5 lines during the day but we understand & compliment each others style of working beautifully.

Aditya is shown to be very close to his nana Mukesh Khanna, how is your chemistry with Mukesh Khanna?

Mukesh Saab and I share a fantastic bond, on and off screen both. I have grown up watching his work in Mahabharata and Shaktiman and I look up to the man for his sheer energy and enthusiasm for his work even after all these years of being in the industry. I love performing scenes with him and there is so much one gets to imbibe and observe by just being around him.

Where do you see yourself in the future?

Good question. 10 minutes from now, I see myself digging into this massive thin crust pizza, which has been staring at me for the past half hour, waiting for me to finish with this interview. On a more serious note, I’d love to be in a position to be able to entertain people and in some way touch their lives with the work I do or the person I become. That is my only reason for being in the profession. It’s my love for people.

Are there similarities (in nature) between Nakuul and Aditiya?

None. Nakuul is everything Aditya is not yet there is a part of Aditya which is a part of Nakuul too. My mother is the center of my my existence just like Aditya’s, though luckily I have not had a childhood like Aditya’s. The only thing common would be our non-biased nature. I don’t judge people and am usually trust people just like Aditya.

What do you enjoy the most? Movies or Television?

Watching movies and currently acting on TV 🙂

Do you believe in love marriage or arranged marriage?

Whatever floats your boat. But I do believe in the institution of marriage.
