I want to do challenging roles which are out of my comfort zone

Says Kunal Kulbhushan Jaisingh, who is playing Ranveer in Sunshine Production’s The Buddy Project Season 2 – Now in College on Channel V…

How is Kunal in real life?
I am a hard-working person and I give my 100% to all that I do. If I like someone, then I will give everything to that person.

How did acting happen to you?
I have always loved acting. I used to be active in theatre when I was in school and college. Then I started working for a multinational company. Once I saw my friend on TV and thought of giving it a shot. When I grew old, I didn’t want to look back and regret. Acting was a true passion for me so I gave it a chance and got into this industry. As a kid, I always thought that I would get into business or do a job and at the same time I always wanted to get into acting but never thought of being a professional actor.

How do you feel now that you are a full time actor?
It feels great and out of this world to be an actor. I am following my passion. People like me and appreciate my work. When you have one extremely passionate dream and you are actually living it you can imagine how it feels.

With whom do you bond the best off-screen?
We all bond well with each other but I am extremely close to Manav (Manav Gohil) sir. He’s a benchmark in my life. I want to be like him not only as an actor but even as an individual. He is one person I really look up to.

How do you spend time with your buddy project co-stars?
We go out for movies or dinner when we get time or have light shoots. We are like one huge family. We have no grudges or jealousy and we all love and appreciate each other.

How is it working with Sunshine Productions?
It is amazing. It’s one of the best production houses and people to work with. The producers are wonderful people.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I like chilling out with friends, going for auditions, indulge in photography. I also like to spend time with my family.

What interests you other than acting?
I like photography and playing sports like basketball and snooker.

Who is your inspiration?
There are many people. Manav sir is the closest to me and a very big inspiration to me and he is a very fine actor.

What is your relationship status?
I am single.

What kind of girl are you looking for?
I am simple so I am looking for a simple and down to earth girl; someone who is not highflying.

Share your crazy fan encounter?
Nothing as such personally but I had one on a social networking site. There is a girl who is like a die-hard fan and follower of me and my show. She constantly keeps on messaging me. She tells me her daily routine or whatever she is been doing. She has even told her mother that she will only marry me or else will never get married. I try handling this very carefully. I respect her feelings and I don’t want to hurt her. But it is not possible to fulfil her wish either.

A special habit you follow?
I am a Buddhist follower and do my chants every day.

What is your dream role?
I want to play all the roles I’ll get; and also try something which will be out of my comfort zone. I would like to play some challenging roles like that of a mentally retard too.
