Mujhse Kuchh Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan’s pacy narrative keeps the audience glued

All started with reports of a certain Gauri Bhonsle, a girl from London being missing. Hoardings all over the city of Mumbai aroused curiosity amongst the lay man, but the thought of this being a promotional campaign for a television show never crossed the minds of people who saw it. Going by this, we have to say that the channel and makers did succeed in raising awareness about Gauri Bhonsle, even before the serial began…

Well, coming to the show now, Mujhse Kuchh Kehti … Yeh Khamoshiyaan, which is being produced by actor duo Shakti Anand and Sai Deodhar’s Thought Train Entertainment and Ila Bedi Dutta’s Trilogy Krikos for Star Plus. The beginning was pacy, impactful and nice. The best part of the story line was that all the important characters in the show, starting from the lead girl Gauri Bhonsle to her fiancé Siddharth to their respective families were introduced to the audience in the first few minutes. And thus began Gauri Bhonsle’s search of her roots.

Is this indeed a new concept to television? Well, going by the first episode where the lover boy Siddharth was head-over-heels in love with Gauri Bhonsle, their engagement sequence, the chemistry between them, and the ambiguity surrounding the future of the loved pair, there was nothing new in the story line. But considering the intrigue the plot created on the whole over the first two weeks, one has to say that the show looks interestingly poised. As a viewer, there are lot many questions that come to my mind – What is the real connection between Appasaheb and Gauri? What is the 20 year old secret that has been safely guarded from Gauri? With Gauri landing in Kolhapur in search of the truth, will she ever be able to get back to Siddharth, the man she has got engaged to? What are the hurdles she will have to overcome once she gets to the bitter truth?

Talking about the other plusses – the narrative is very pacy with every episode bringing a new twist to the story line. The typical ‘Maharashtrian’ look and feel is a refreshing change, and has been depicted well in each and every character. The Director Hemant Deodhar needs an applause for getting the intricate things right. Coming to the dialogues, one has to admit that they are refreshing, with a right mix of Hindi, English and Marathi. Salil Sand who is in charge of the story, screenplay and dialogues has kept the story line pacy, dialogues are not too hard-hitting, yet colloquial and apt. The catchy dialogues like ‘Harrna Jeet ki pehle seedhi hoti hai’, Sabko sab kuchh nahin milta lekin kuchh kuch sab ko milta hai’, ‘Samazala ka’… are indeed impactful.

Coming to the cast – The new girl Mrunal Thakur is impressive and will surely garner a lot of fan following with the passage of time. Mohit Sehgal, of course, has a huge fan base and his great looks and refreshing character sketch will impress many. Manit Joura as the rugged Garv looks majestic, and this is probably a serial that will give him fame and recognition. Resham Tipnis deserves a special mention for the different role that she has taken up. Ravindra Mankani as Appasaheb creates a suspense every time he is shown on screen…

The cinematography has been noteworthy; the sequence shift from London to Kolhapur has been captured well by cameraman Pramod Pradhan. Last but not the least, the story line is unpredictable. And every episode gives a hint to the audience that a big earth-shattering truth is about to unfold.

On entirety, the Maharashtrian feel will win over many a hearts. And if the story line moves at the same brisk pace, the viewers are sure to get an interesting watch.

Thumbs up to Khamoshiyaan!!!
