Navi Banghu’s ‘too big for his boots’ attitude showed him the door in Amrit Manthan… read on

Navi Bhangu had created a fan following of his own as the lead in Life OK and Director’s Kut’s Amrit Manthan. However, his sudden exit from the show did not raise as many eyeballs as it should have, given the fact that rumour mills were already abuzz with the news of the actor ‘getting too big for his boots’.

But whenever Navi got into a conversation with media, he maintained that the so-called twist of his character’s death was brought in to create a ‘spike in ratings’ which had seen a dip. In other words, Agam was killed to make way for the new character of Karan, essayed by Angad Hasija to come in with lot more drama.

However, a credible source goes on to tell us that the need to push the TRP high was not the actual reason for Navi going out. It had to do with the attitude thrown by the actor on the set, and also because he demanded more money. A little birdie also went on to whisper that Navi was never in the good books of producer Rajan Shahi. The fact that he wanted to do Punjabi films did not go well with the producer. Hence Rajan took the decision of ‘letting him go’.

If sources are to be believed, Navi even got to realize the grave mistake he made, once he had bitten more than he could chew and went on to apologize to Rajan but it was too late.

With so much of information in hand, we gave a call to Navi Bhangu who accepted that he had a monetary issue saying, “There was an issue of money but the decision for me to go was taken mutually as I wanted to concentrate on films. Please do not listen to rumours that I was a trouble maker. I had given the production house more than a year, and wanted to move on.” Denying differences with Rajan, Navi stated, “I would love to work with him in future.”

Producer Rajan Shahi refused to say much except that, “I never really understood Navi as he did not seem committed to his job. Often he would tell me that he wants to leave Mumbai and go to USA to work as a waiter. I went on to question him that he should never have come for the audition if this was the case.”

As they say, ‘the show has to go on’. While Navi ‘moves on’ in search of greener pastures, let us see whether Angad Hasija can turn the fate of Amrit Manthan with his acting prowess.
