Den
Watching the still body of the girl, Shukla is shocked – he doesn’t know what to do. He makes a few futile attempts to wake her up, but to no avail.

Donned in a yellow kurta and sporting his favourite cooling glasses; Indu Singh effortlessly jumps off his jeep, as he informs his friends ‘I have asked Janardhan to set up a committee against Sanchi Mathur too…I’ll shift this girl from here to Sanchi’s place and then the police will take care of the rest…’
As the gang climb up the steps to the safe-house, Indu reminds them on a cynical note ‘One thing for sure… this girl should be instructed aptly… she should know to tell everyone that it was not me, but Sanchi, who kidnapped her…’

From inside the room, Shukla hears the voices of the group outside. Briefly panicking, he decides to escape and jumps out of a small window on the side.

Just as the jovial gang enter the den, their laughter and smiles swiftly fade away. They are shocked to be confronted by the unexpected scene of an injured Swetha. Horrified, Indu rushes towards the girl and kneels beside her. He touches the stains on the ground to confirm that it was blood. He then takes her wrist to check her pulse. What he discovers manages to bring back some colour on his ashen face. He breathes a sigh of relief ‘She is still breathing’
Instantly recovering from his benumbed state, Indu yells his orders aloud ‘Take out the jeep..lets take her to the hospital..if something happens to her, we’ll be in real trouble!’
The group of 5 carry the girl down the short trek of steps and then towards their jeep.
As they haul her into the back, a nervous Guddu questions Indu’s actions ‘But bhaiyyaji, if we take her to the hospital now, we’ll get trapped…’
Ensuring she was properly housed in the back, Indu runs to the front of the jeep and hops in ‘So what… just because she is a girl, do we just let her be sacrificed for our gains…do we just ditch her… whatever happens, happens.. we’ll worry about that later on…now let’s start!’

Stepping out of hiding, Shukla remains a mute spectator as the boys struggle to make amends for his mistakes!

Hospital
Waiting outside a hospital room, Indu muses to himself ‘Everything’s gone awry now…how did she open the knots around her wrists…’ he runs his fingers across his hair in worry ‘and to top it all, she’s managed to smash her head too…’
Guddu walks up to the fretting Indu and meekly concocts an explanation ‘She was trying to escape and she must have tripped on something…hurt herself in the process’
‘Whatever! But, nothing should happen to her henceforth…’ Indu fumes ‘Otherwise, I’ll not be able to answer my conscience for life…I will not be able to digest the fact that an innocent girl lost her life because of me…’
His tense deliberations are interrupted by a call. Reading the number, Indu picks it up – it was Shukla!
‘Where are you Indu?’
The depressed man whispers ‘I’m the hospital now Guruji’
Shukla acts surprised ‘What! What for’
‘The girl that we were holding… somehow, she’s been hurt…we found her wounded and unconscious…so we’ve brought her here for treatment’
Shukla falters ‘So what did the doctors say…will she be all right?’
‘She is unconscious and nothing can be said till she gains consciousness…’ he pauses ‘You’ve got me entrapped into a very big mess, Guruji’
After cutting the call, Indu and his friends notice a few police men walking down the corridors towards Swetha’s room. Just then, the doctor steps out of the room too. She approaches Indu ‘Forgive me, but I had to inform the police force about all this. In such cases (assault), we cannot proceed beyond first aid, unless we receive approval from the police. Besides, this girl had tried to commit suicide, a few days ago. An FIR has been filed.’ she indicates towards the approaching officers ‘Anyway, they want to have a word with you about all of this too’
The same inspector who’d visited his den the previous night, walks up to Indu, his tone slightly different now ‘Who brought this girl here’
‘I did’ confesses Indu
‘You know her?’
‘She studies in the university’
‘So you must know her name too – Swetha Jha…’
The inspector then proceeds to remind him of all the incidents from the previous night. Noticing the inspector’s suspicions, Indu once again repeats the same explanation he’d provided the night before – that Sanchi was doing all of it purely to defame him.
Staring at Indu’s forlorn face, the inspector asks dubiously ‘so where did you find her then?’
Hesitant, Indu answers softly ‘Well…w… we were just passing by, when we found her…she was wounded…she must have been hit by a vehicle’

Their exchanges are interrupted by the ominous emergence of his sworn enemy – Sanchi. Watching the large bevy of girls following her, Indu passes a few snide remarks. Advancing towards Indu, a dauntless Sanchi rebukes him, now that she had the upper hand. Forcing the police officers to remain a mute audience, Indu and Sanchi continue to have a war of words – he about how she was only defaming him for politics and she about how he’d been finally caught red-handed in the kidnapping fiasco!
‘I do something good and this is how I’m being punished for it.’ Indu sputters in anger ‘Do you think I’d try and have the girl admitted in hospital, if I was the one who attacked her’
‘Yes! So that no one suspects you’ she retorts
Fed up of their ceaseless arguments, the inspector finally speaks up ‘Enough both of you! I need proof and nothing else holds good in front of the law…’
When Sanchi, accuses the inspector of not following protocol on the case, he defends himself ‘Madam! I investigated thoroughly last night and found nothing…now Indu Singh tells me that he found the wounded girl by the side of a road… so I just have to accept what he says, unless I find proof otherwise’
‘You’ll find it now’ Sanchi claims defiantly

The already growing crowd is eventually joined by Shukla’s arrival too. Alarmed to discover such a large gathering, the professor comes forth and introduces himself to the police. Hurling Shukla a disgusted glance, Indu turns away.
Just then, the doctor re-emerges to inform the impatient group that Swetha had gained consciousness and that they could speak to her, if they wanted to.

‘Are you Swetha Jha?’ the inspector questions the quivering girl
She nods her head.
‘Don’t worry…don’t be scared…tell me…who’s done this to you’ he asks her
The injured girl looks up and stares at Shukla. However, as fate might have it, Shukla’s nervousness goes unnoticed. To make matters worse, Shukla is actually standing right behind Indu Singh. Hence, Swetha’s distressed glances appear to be aimed at Indu rather than Shukla!
Mistaking Indu to be the cause of Swetha’s apprehension, Sanchi bends down to encourage the girl ‘Don’t be scared.. tell me who did this to you’
Battling to utter every word, the ailing Swetha stutters ‘I…I was kidnapped… tied down…tried to escape… I was hit…’
Her words barely making sense, Sanchi enquires worriedly ‘Who hit you?’
‘That…that…that…that’ Swetha wants to indicate towards Shukla but her body fails her, as she writhes in pain.
Indu looks away, casting only a few glances in her direction every now and then, hoping that Swetha would not blurt out much.
Studying Swetha’s anguish and then Indu’s expressions of hidden guilt, Sanchi expresses her thoughts ‘Swetha is frightened by Indu’s presence’
Jolted by the statement, his friends fidget about nervously, while Indu retaliates ‘Why? why should she be afraid of me? What have I done to her?’

Ultimately, Swetha manages to lift a finger in her bid to indicate towards her assailant. She endeavours to point towards Shukla, but it appears as though she was pointing in the direction of Indu. Taking advantage of the situation, Shukla shifts behind Indu and remains hidden behind him. Now the entire room conclude upon the mistaken observation that Swetha was indeed pointing to Indu. As the reality of the situation begins to dawn upon him, Indu’s pitiful face turns many shades paler.
Realizing that everyone was misreading her confession, Swetha once again struggles to explain that it was NOT Indu Singh, but her words are unclear. Only the ‘Indu Singh’ part of her confession remains audible. Soon after; Swetha’s health takes a turn for the worse and the group of onlookers are hastily ushered out of the room.

No sooner than the group of people step out, the inspector walks up to Indu Singh ‘In accordance with the patient’s confession, you are arrested for the attempted murder of Swetha Jha. Constanble, please bring forth the ornament and slap it on to his wrist’
Indu’s friends are now rendered speechless, while Shukla finds himself relieved and deliberately keeps his mouth shut. Desperate to prove his innocence, Indu glances about. His eyes are fraught with anxiety as he struggles to defend himself ‘I’ve done nothing…please trust me…that girl was wounded and I brought her here to have her treated…’
Glimpsing around in despair, Indu asks his friends ‘Why are you all so quiet…why don’t you speak up for me…’
Instantly snapping back to their senses, his friends attempt to convince the officer of Indu’s innocence in the matter.
Seeing that the inspector was unmoved, he then looks around and spots the silent Shukla ‘Guruji, why are you standing quietly there.. why don’t you say something’
‘Oh yes’ shukla stutters in a low tone ‘He…he is a student of the university… a student leader…he’s done nothing…please leave him alone’

‘He is just trying to mislead us’ the unconvinced Sanchi thunders in response to Indu’s despair ‘He was the one who admitted that he had kidnapped her in the first place!’
Indu Singh stares at Sanchi. For once, an aura of helplessness seemed to overshadow his inherent anger ‘Sanchi Mathur… I am not an idiot… why would I attempt to murder someone and then get them to the hospital to have them treated? You claim to be so intelligent, then why don’t you use your brains a little?’
Just then the doctor arrives and lets the group know that the girl had slipped into a coma ‘God, Prayers and time are the only factors that could help heal her’ She says and leaves
Unhappy with the latest developments, Sanchi stares at Indu and pledges furiously ‘Swetha will definitely come out of her coma.. she has to see her culprits being punished by her own eyes’
Shaken by Sanchi’s statement, Indu glares back at her in silence. His lips now quivering, Indu points a finger at her intimidatingly, before he is dragged away from the scene by the police officers.

University
The policemen arrive with their prisoner at the university campus. A handcuffed Indu Singh being hauled around by the police force is not a sight the students or the staff of the university saw very often. As everyone gathers to witness the commotion, the shocking scene raises many an eyebrow and sets many a tongue wagging. The police inform the assembled staff about the latest developments and that they needed to carry a thorough search of his hostel room for any proofs. Janardhan angrily glares at Indu and then expresses his wholehearted co-operation in the matter.
The officers then proceed to Indu’s room and go about rummaging every nook and corner to search for any evidence of his wrongdoings. A handcuffed Indu is forced to watch the proceedings helplessly!

Precap –
Disturbing
‘Indu Singh is a murderer…hit him…punish him…kill him’ are the cries that the wild group of students break out into, as they begin pelting the handcuffed young man with stones and rocks. A large rock manages to strike Indu’s forehead too!
The police and his friends attempt to shield both themselves and Indu from the assaults, while a few teachers try to calm the crowd. However, the mob is too rowdy and too incensed by the news of the murder attempt, to actually settle down.
Sanchi is appalled by the turn of events. She stares at Mehek, not knowing how to react to the situation!
